I saw Rubio on TDS and figured OK, that makes sense, he's trying to establish a niche as a different Republican with some appeal to people under the age of 75.

But Huckabee going on TDS? I don't get that. And IIRC Huckabee was one of the ten most frequent guests on Colbert, too. I guess he just figures there's no such thing as bad pub -- go on Stewart, get creamed, then whine about the bad liberal media to his righty grievance buddies and watch the money roll in.

DANG, this'n figgered it out.

Funny

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The punk rock band Dropkick Murphys is asking Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker to stop playing one of their songs, saying on Twitter that “We literally hate you.”

Walker took the stage Saturday at the Iowa Freedom Summit to its song “I’m Shipping Up to Boston.” The band then tweeted at Walker’s official and personal accounts, “please stop using our music in any way...we literally hate you !!! Love, Dropkick Murphys.”

I take it Walker didn't listen to "Worker's Song" or pretty much anything else in their catalog?

He has a staff doing things like choosing rally music. While The Dropkick Murphys are sort of big for Irish punk, not so much that a guy like Walker would know them, in all likelihood.

It's sort of like Paul Ryan liking Rage Against the Machine music.

Or Rage Against the Machine hiding behind a bunch of Minneapolis policemen during their 2008 anti-RNC convention concert they played.

Not particularly familiar with that and couldn't really come up with anything on a search. Only thing I see is that they ignored police, went into a crowd, and did a concert with bull horns.

But yea, probably totally similar situations ya know.

It's funny, though. Pols' music taste can be completely subversive of their political views. Lee Atwater loved the blues, while his stable of pretty ponies' policies caused poverty and despair. I wouldn't be shocked to learn Paul Ryan loves Billy Bragg or Mittens loves the Clash. Right wingers have a disassociative disorder concerning the damage and human tragedy they cause.

It was all over the local news when the riots and protests were happening during the convention. The members of Rage are standing there, egging on the crowds, all the while there's a virtual wall of officers between them and the crowd. Given their anti-police, anti-authority songs, it's just more of that hypocrosy in the mixture of politics, art and real world actions taken.

Um, the police were trying to prevent them from playing. So no, not hiding behind the police.

Then his staff isn't doing good work. Dropkick is definitely in the anti-Republican camp and a casual survey of their music would've found that.

Didn't Fleetwood Mac have a cow about some GOP candidate playing their music (but they obviously had no trouble with the Clintons)??

Also, Springsteen/Reagan, "Born in the USA". But in that case, his campaign staff should've read a lyrics sheet or listened to the acoustic demo, and known better.

Yeah, I remember when draggers first realized that the Boss wasn't a card carrying lemming.

If a conservative can pass for compassionate...

Re: Campaign 2016 - Run-HRC? Honest Injun? Gott Mitt Himmel? RyanRubioCruzCrud?

And liberal doesn't mean hates America.

Re: Campaign 2016 - Run-HRC? Honest Injun? Gott Mitt Himmel? RyanRubioCruzCrud?

Compassionate does not mean saying "Yes" every time.

And pragmatic doesn't mean saying "No" every time.

Conservatives have have a fetish of meanness. They started with the entirely true statement that it is right to deny a lunatic a gun. They put on that conceit of "I'm doing the right thing even if it's unpopular. YOU NEED ME ON THAT WALL!!!!" and then went on to self-justify that it is "right" to deny a starving man bread.

I've sentenced boys younger than you to the gas chamber. Didn't want to do it. I felt I owed it to them.

And so today they smugly spread their bile everywhere, thinking they're heroes. They passed "tough but fair" 25 years ago and now are simply reflexive animals, slathering up the praise of their billionaire masters. "Whooooo's a good supply side dog? Youuuuuuuuu are, that's who!!!"
