Re: Campaign 2016 - Primary season! Duck (questions) season!

I thought of no matter where you go, you end up back where you started.

No, I wasn't going down that road at all. Only that when people take extreme positions, they often look like a distorted mirror image of one another.

So why does this line of reasoning not also apply to North Korea? Or does it?

A government whose sole purpose is to aggrandize its dictator first, and national party second, all at the expense of the commoners' welfare sounds a lot like the CCCP and Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (Nazis, for short) governments to me. The NorKs just kicked it up to 11 and turned their dictators into living gods.

So you're saying that despite its name, North Korea doesn't resemble a democratic republic. Did Nazi Germany resemble a socialist state?

When the party began, as Germans were unemployed, yes, the Nazis did. They pivoted away from that as more Germans were back to work or inducted into the military and became embarking into crony capitalism (kissing cousin to socialism supply of goods) as Hitler realized it would keep powerful supporters in the public within his control and provide more of the goods that he needed within the timelines he wanted them.

Exactly how all these conservative candidates (and kep calling them conservative ) don't make them conservative

Coming in 4th for the Dems: Vermin Supreme
Coming in 4th for the GOP: Jeb Bush

Not sure how Nazis got into this discussion  but nice win by Sanders. He did what he needed to and Hillary lost by a bit more than she should have. Her campaign needs to settle on the simple theme of building on the progress of the Obama administration and let the chips fall as they may.

Having said that, Go Trump! The GOP side was hilarious. Anybody who bought stock in Marco Rubio last week is now broke! What happened to all his ball washers in the media? Trump doubled up on his next closest rival, a guy (Kasich) who's going nowhere in the South. 3rd place? Calgary Ted! Outpacing Rubio, Jebbers! (there were actually people who said to 'watch out' for Bush in the primary ), and Krispy Kreme Christie. Ladies and gentlemen, its a Trump vs Cruz contest. Gotta love it. :D

Hilly was talking about problems and anger (FROM HER OWN PARTY).

That ain't a platform to "continue the work of Obama" :p

I agree with this but I don't see them doing it. Their natural play is "Bill Clinton's third term," but the optics of that are starting to go sour with Bill looking like death warmed over, so the natural pivot is "Obama's third term," which will please Democrats and a large enough share of Independents to force the GOP back on defense. Defending the improvement of the economy under Obama is a trap to make Republicans come forward and talk about unemployment (whether you use U3 or U6 it's far better than under Republicans), or "attacks on business" (the stock market is through the roof under Obama), or a "slow recovery" (yes...a recovery from a crash under Republicans). The GOP should steer away from those attacks towards a future vision, but they are so blinded by Obama Hatred that they don't realize it doesn't play outside their bubble. Turn the GOP's greatest strength -- it's complete insulation from reality within the Echo Chamber -- into a lethal weakness.

But I just don't see them playing it like that. They'll micromanage and ax a few people (because it can't possibly be Hillary herself that's the problem), and they won't keep Rover's strategy in mind.

I told you all Hillary would find a way to lose. Her showing in New Hampshire and Iowa for that matter has been a disaster. And if Hillary loses who wins the Presidency?

As much as I wish the US would move left towards Bernie, I don't think he is going to keep this up. Clinton is going to grind this one out. It won't be the coronation she expected, but she'll end up with the nomination none the less.

What I hope is that the next generation of Democrats are going to continue what Bernie has started.

Re: Campaign 2016 - Primary season! Duck (questions) season!

Frankly you can do both. Recall Bill Clinton's great speech at the 2012 convention. It brought home Democratic administrations and the progress they made vs Republicans. For all intents and purposes that really means Clinton + Obama as Carter's term wasn't very successful. Her argument is to list and then build upon those victories as opposed to Sanders who either doesn't think those gains were good enough or weren't useful at all (her campaign's characterization - Sanders himself may feel differently). As Obama voters are the largest bloc out there, whoever lays claim to them wins the nomination. In the next debates she needs to put Sanders on record as to how he feels about the Obama Presidency and if its been good to liberals.

Scott Walker! (sorry Scoobs, but you walked right into that one... ;))

Re: Campaign 2016 - Primary season! Duck (questions) season!

Sanders wins popular vote 60-38, but delegates currently split 13-15 for Hillary. Hey, this game IS rigged! :p

Re: Campaign 2016 - Primary season! Duck (questions) season!

When Bill dies, will he reach the same level of sainthood at Reagan?
