Scott Walker! (sorry Scoobs, but you walked right into that one... ;))

Between Walker and Rubio Scoob is on a roll! Who will he give the kiss of death to next ;)

When the party began, as Germans were unemployed, yes, the Nazis did. They pivoted away from that as more Germans were back to work or inducted into the military and became embarking into crony capitalism (kissing cousin to socialism supply of goods) as Hitler realized it would keep powerful supporters in the public within his control and provide more of the goods that he needed within the timelines he wanted them.

That's interesting. Sounds like they used the promise of a social safety net as a carrot.

As much as I wish the US would move left towards Bernie, I don't think he is going to keep this up. Clinton is going to grind this one out. It won't be the coronation she expected, but she'll end up with the nomination none the less.

What I hope is that the next generation of Democrats are going to continue what Bernie has started.

Agreed...Hillary wins the War of Attrition

I'll believe Bernie has a chance if he doesn't lose Nevada or South Carolina by double digits. Until then, I stand by my prediction that he'll lose 45 of the next 48 states.

One of the kos writers (and I believe a supporter) had a good point which was Bernie thus far seems to feel his anti-poverty and wealth transfer message should appeal to everybody equally whether black or white, and he needs to understand that might not be enough for minority voters.

Yeah, Bernie doesn't have a chance. Right now is Bernie's high water mark. This is over. Write it down.

I don't remember the particulars but the current Dem primary set up is a result of another populist insurgent - Jesse Jackson who demanded the Dems change to what they have now. Something about how there aren't any winner take all contests on the Dem side but rather its a combo of congressional districts won and maybe a few if you win the state. Not sure where superdelegates came from but they may be a holdover from how the contest was previously run.

Edit - Props to FTB&G for already posting this.

Why do you think she was so quick to concede yesterday?

Unlike Bill's nuts, this nomination is one thing Hillary has a lock on due to owning all of the superdelegates. However, it may be best if she shakes up the staff now, before the convention, because I do think she has lost quite a bit of steam nationally, and she's going to need people to convince the Sandernistas to show up to the polls and pull the lever for her vs. the GOP's a55clown.

Re: Campaign 2016 - Primary season! Duck (questions) season!

NH delegates are of little importance...what matters is the state's voter preferences. And they were for Sanders. Regardless as Dem nominee, Hillary is unstoppable.

Out of 712 Superdelagates, Hill has 355 of them with 341 uncommitted. Source: Wikipedia)

Which in and of itself is ridiculous. Why go through any of this if it doesnt matter?

Yes and no. Back in 2008 we were all talking how brilliant Obama's campaign was to master the caucus and delegate accumulation process including wooing superdelegates even though Hillary won the popular vote in some major states (CA, TX). Its the same rules for 2016, but suddenly the process is unfair? Everybody knew the rules going in (except for maybe Hillary's 2008 campaign manager ).

Having said that, if Bernie starts killing it in the remaining states, I don't see superdelegates denying him the nomination if he's 699 short and all 700 vote for Hillary. Most likely they'll go with whoever's winning, but yes if Bernie and Hillary end up even in delegates won through the primaries I can see superdelegates putting her over the top.

I'm really hoping Christie decides to stick it out and slap Rubio around a little longer.

Me too! He's in no danger of getting the nomination, so why not stay in and settle some scores? A real Jersey guy would do that!
