Campaign 2016 - People lie the most after a hunt, during a war or before an election

Re: Campaign 2016 - People lie the most after a hunt, during a war or before an elect

So... not really familiar with how congressional leadership works, but John Boehner is retiring in order to prevent a gov't shutdown. This seems like a pretty noble way to go out, if you're going to quit.
Boehner’s now free to ignore the demands of rank-and-file Republicans who say
they’re willing to shut down the government rather than continue paying Planned Parenthood for its non-abortion health services. He will be able to schedule a quick vote on the funding bill that the Senate plans to vote on next week. Enough Democrats would vote for that to avoid a government shutdown on Oct. 1.

The signed copy of Mein Kampf probably belongs in a museum somewhere. I've always been intrigued to read that book. Our high school AP Psych teacher had a copy (among many other philosophical tomes) in his collection. I remember talking to him about it once but don't remember the details of the conversation.

Carly Fiorina says she's definitely seen the episode of The Tonight Show where Carson asks Zsa Zsa Gabor to take the cat off of her lap.

My guess is the Establishment hired those "protesters" from Florida in 2000 to show up at Trump rallies and make it seem like there is a dissent rising.

dx do you even watch CNN? I never did until I moved here, and it's the only adult news channel I can find that's not European or Asian. FOX News is for children and CNBC is a hot mess.

That's it folks. The hot button issue of the 2016 Campaign has been identified.

Two spaces after a period.

Scripture is quite clear. There shall be two spaces after a period. Punctuation is an inviolate part of the faith.

Rubio is kind of the darling of many GOP types. Doesn't mean they want him as president though.

Beyond that, it seems Trump is losing a bit of his mojo. Problem is there's no ideal candidate to fill the void as the establishment choice Bush still has not caught on with the anti govt side of the party (which appears to be most of it now). We'll see whether its a short term hiccup or something more significant.

Agreed. The only times I don't have two spaces is when I'm typing too fast on my iPhone.

You will take my Oxford comma from my cold, dead, and lifeless hands.

You may cite Gregg or Bringhurst,or whichever scripture you follow, but the Constitution is silent on the subject,as is the Harvard Blue Book. This may be a matter of style manual construction, but it is dam sure a matter of states' rights. My own faith requires that I not use spaces at all around punctuation marks,as they are an abomination in the eyes of the Scrivener.

I beg to differ. If you read the Constitution in its original form, you will notice a large space after each period. Therefore, it seems that the Founding Fathers did endorse the concept of two spaces after each period.

However, an interpretation, not endorsed by all mind you, of the 14th Amendment seems to imply equal protection of single spaces. An an Originalist, I am appalled. But it seems that the modernists (clearly condemned by St. Pius X) are in the ascendancy.

"Seems," Joe? Nay, it is not; SCOTUS knows not "seems."

Okay you nerds, settle down. ;)

Kinda funny watching Carly get roasted over her video claims. Live by media hype, die by media hype. What fascinates me about the GOP race is that I don't see an Establishment heir to the Trump-Carson coalition which is near 50% of primary voters. Now again, like the Dems, the more voters who become engaged in the race will most likely lean moderate instead of extreme, but whoever emerges needs these people to show up for them. Cruz can be their champion. Walker could have as well. Jebbers! and Rubio? Not so sure. In my memory I've never seen anything quite like this before. Its like anybody could be the nominee but you can't picture any of them actually winning the nomination.
