He might.

But you guys all keep telling yourselves that Hiilary is a great candidate.

Uncle Joe we hardly knew ye.

Seriously, enough with you keep telling yourselves that Hillary's a great candidate. I get it. You dislike her. Get in line. Take a number. Whatever. You're not changing my mind. I'm saying that and freaking out because I think she's a worthy candidate and she's up against a ****ing lunatic. Yeah, it's her own d@mn fault that she's not nailing this election. Doesn't take away from the fact that she's the best person for the job.

Who's saying that? You call this a choice between vomitting and diarrhea. But, it's really a choice between vomitting and having a heart attack. The problem is that half the country hangs on every word of a deranged doctor who claims that vomitting is worse than anything that can happen to a person.

The best of the two major party candidates? You bet. The best a nation of 320,000,000 people should have been able to produce? Not even close.

Well why don't all these "best" candidates get out there and run?

Hey, don't shoot the messenger. I'm simply pointing out what we are all witnessing right there in front of us in the news and in the polls.

Most likely she will still win, but seriously, if the dems put up a better candidate, this one would have been over in July.

Well, on the Republican side, I'm thinking it is because the party has largely become dominated by the far right looney toons.

Last time the Democrats certainly nominated a great candidate in Obama, I'm not sure what their issue is this time around.

And actually, I think the last two republican nominees would have made fine presidents and were good candidates. They just had to go up against Obama, who was a great one.

is not you being a messenger. It's you trying to lord it over those of us that support her. Own it.

Well duh. But no one else stepped up.

Eric is just mad with his party.

Not mad because they nominated a guy like trump, mad because his party can't find a single candidate as qualified as Hillary.

Reading comprehension issues? Once again, as previously stated, not my party.

But I know that hyper partisans on both sides have a hard time understanding the independent voter.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

And for the record, Obama was a sh_t candidate in 2008. I didn't vote for him until 2012 when he proved me wrong over four years.

He had a woeful lack of experience, I didn't like much of what he ran on, and honestly he ran on a platform not unlike trump's. Full of promises and almost nothing of substance to back it up.

Balderdash. Your posts belie your claims.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

Obama? Romney? McCain? What type of baggage did they have in their history as compared to the current candidates? Maybe some, but I don't think it comes close to comparing.

I think Joe Biden would have been a great candidate? What type of baggage does he have that would compare to either of these two?

Romney doesnt have baggage? So you didnt watch the 2012 election at all?

McCain was fine when he ran in 2000 but in 2008 he had tons of it before Sarah Palin. The second he hugged Dubya (you know the guy who said McCain fathered a Black Love Child) everyone knew he was a sellout with no spine.

I wont even get into Obama and all the crap the Right tried to pin on him...he was a Commie, he was a Socialist, he was a Muslim, he was a Radical Black Christian, he hated whites, he hated Jews, he wasnt born in America...

Want to try again?

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

YOU HAD HER FOR OVER 8 HOURS IN YOUR GODDAMM BENGHAZI HEARING AND YOU GOT NOWHERE.

Ah, grasshopper, you apparently missed the whole point (of the hearings). I'm just being descriptive now...the point was to get her testimony on the record, under oath. Not for anything in the hearings themselves, but to be able to compare her testimony with other evidence they uncovered and then look for discrepancies. It is a standard prosecutor's ploy, if all else fails go for the "lying to Congress" move.

Similar to how Trey Gowdy interviewed Comey after Comey tried to explain how "extremely careless" somehow was not "negligence": he asked Comey five questions based on things Clinton said, and whether the evidence supported her statements or not, and Comey answered "no" each time.

Whether they "got nowhere" or not remains to be seen; they have time before the statute of limitations runs out to find some discrepancy somewhere. Whether they will succeed or not, who knows. But the more questions they asked her, the more chances they developed to have her say something that would be contradicted by other evidence.

This might have belonged in the "conspiracy" thread except that it is such a widespread, standard investigative technique. Plenty of prosecutors around the country do exactly the same thing.

The investigation has gone on longer than we investigated 9/11 and Pearl Harbor combined. Maybe it's time to let it go?

Dude why dont you go back to spamming the board pimping a guy who is so stupid even Drumpf mocks him...

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

You still really don't get this, do you?

It doesn't matter whether I "get this" or not. I was describing what I've seen and heard in this deep blue state. It sure seems like if it were not for Bridgeport and New Haven, Trump would have a decent chance to carry Connecticut, believe it or not. Most folks here really do not like the "cash for influence" business. There were hundreds of "Bernie" signs in the spring, not a single "Clinton" sign. Not too many "Trump" signs either, but there are enough to indicate deep unease in this area.

I always get a chuckle when I read about the Democrats' "ground game." I've seen it in action first hand here: a school bus pulls up to the polling place; maybe 50 or 60 voters get off, each one clutching a piece of paper in their hands instructing them on how they are supposed to vote. Then, when they leave the polling place to get back on the bus, there's a person standing there with a wad of bills, peeling of $20 to each person as they get back on the bus again. Back in Chicago, it was called "walking around money." As long as no one talks and the person with the wad of cash is discreet enough, it's "nothing to see here, folks, move along please." Many people genuinely believe they are performing a civic duty, keeping the "right people" in office. Others only care about the money, prestige, and power.

New Haven and Bridgeport will both be over 95% for Clinton. That makes up for 60% Trump in the rest of the state.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

In short, because our electoral system is abysmal. Would you want to run?

Nah I go back to what Carlin said...

"Everybody complains about politicians. Everybody says they suck. Well, where do people think these politicians come from? They don’t fall out of the sky. They don’t pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do folks. This is what we have to offer. It’s what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you’re going to get selfish, ignorant leaders. Term limits ain’t going to do any good; you’re just going to end up with a brand new bunch of selfish, ignorant Americans. So, maybe, maybe, maybe, it’s not the politicians who suck. Maybe something else sucks around here… like, the public. Yeah, the public sucks. There’s a nice campaign slogan for somebody: ‘The Public Sucks. **** Hope.’"
