The fringe left may not have the racial toxicity as the alt-right but they are just as crazy...

The fringe left doesn't have guns or a Man In The Sky they think justifies them murdering for.

I know who I've got in that fight.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXII: Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Politicians!

McCain and Ayotte are in fascinating races because they're being squeezed on both sides. By disavowing Trump, they've PO'd his voters who are a vindictive bunch with little Establishment Republican party loyalty. On the other hand, their previous Trump coddling has cost them the cross over votes they need for a cushion against any right wing defections. I personally don't think Ayotte can walk that tightrope. Trump is going to lose highly educated, half MA transplanted New Hampshire by a wide margin.

There is a problem with this theory. I have met educated, half MA transplanted New Hampshirites, and they are racist as f-ck. Seriously, I've never met worse racists than those eejits. I'm going to bet Ayotte sneaks through for all the wrong reasons.

Educated, tolerant Bostonians moved to SF or DC or RTP. Boston is, to this day, the most racist city I've ever been in.

Oh there's plenty on the fringe left with guns, maybe not the massive arsenal like the alt-right but enough it'd raise an eyebrow or two. Not to mention the engineering capabilities.

wouldn't one guess there are more Young Republicans in college right now than 9% in the US? certainly more than 9% apply to GS :D

No, I think they're all for Gary Johnson. Libertarianism always sounds better in the classroom than out in the real world anyway. ;)

Amy Schumer’s Donald Trump Joke Prompts 200 People to Walk Out of Florida Show

People leaving her show is a "whatever" for me, but this stuff continues to get me:

Do people really not pay attention to what's going on? That Trump himself is as trustworthy as a Jon Lovitz SNL character? That he routinely makes things up, that every fact-finder there is has called his candidacy the least truthful by a landslide, that even FOX News shakes their head at his sheer gall?

I know I shouldn't be surprised, but the frequency with which this mantra is repeated still boggles the s**t out of me.

These are the same people who were shocked SHOCKED that Amy Schumer ended up saying political stuff they didn't like 3 weeks before the election, so don't expect them to be the deepest thinkers.

She started to crack an Uber joke in Kalamazoo, so...

The biggest difference is that the Democrats have not let their fringe element take over the party.

You're thinking of Boston 25 years ago. All the old whitey racists have either croaked or cashed out and moved to Florida, to be replaced by corporate stiffs, gays, and hipsters, none of which are terribly racist. When's the last time you were here?

I'll put your Ayotte prediction alongside your "Hillary needs a major revamp of her campaign" prediction from one short month ago. ;) Or your Scottie Brown over Elizabeth Warren classic.

They don't care. Hillary's last name is Clinton, and the Clintons get away with everything - they cannot be trusted in any circumstance. That is the worldview of Trumpstains.

The Fringe Left has never been a part of the Democratic Party, too conservative and rigged for them.

Now elements like west coast liberals and red state liberals that Sanders won? That I could see taking over.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXII: Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Politicians!

Well Hannity is defending Drumpf's assualts by saying King David Had 500 Concubines (I wonder if that means Bill is ok too...) and Ann Coulter is saying his adultery Is Approved By God because he met Marla Maples at a church.

Just let that simmer for a while ;)

Sanders sent an important message which influenced the party, (and Clinton), but he is nothing like Trump or Cruz. My point is that, whether you agree with traditional Democratic platform positions or not, the party is just not likely to allow what is happening with the GOP. IMO. Because the Dems do not rely as heavily on fear as a means to motivate its base.

The Ann link is going to the previous link...so help me out. According to her, if meeting in a church makes it ok (presumably blessed by god himself) does this mean it was ok for priests to diddle the kids as they also met at church?

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXII: Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Politicians!

The US economy is global. Period. And your best approach is to compete globally.
Thank you for so succinctly capturing the entire problem I was talking about.

Feel free to just leave it right there. Clearly nothing more is needed.

I'm sure the 47 year old guy in Chattanooga working part time stocking shelves because GE off shored his job, who can't afford to send his kids to college is just going to put his anger aside and think, "well when you put it so coolly and logically like that, how can I be mad, it just makes so much sense."

When the domestic terrorism kicks off you can take solace in knowing you were right.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXII: Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Politicians!

How do you fix that though? Do you really want to be the person to tell the 47-yo in Chattanooga that while it's great he has a job now, he can't afford anything because the is labor market is so **** expensive in the US?

You have to keep up with the changing labor force. We can compete by importing high tech jobs that help address global warming. But that dumbarse in TN doesn't know any better because he has been lied to his entire life by the soulsucking party known as the GOP.

Its tough. But its why that guy can buy that shirt for $10. Start protecting jobs and the shirt costs you $25. And food...and gas...and...

Each company competes or it goes out of business. And each individual does likewise. Mr. Chattanooga needs to get retrained. And yes, retraining is one of the most valuable services government provides. And then he needs to get into a better job. Maybe that's plumbing. Maybe the job is in Nashville. If you only want your job and your wage with no change and that job is going away...you shouldn't get mad at the world or the government.

I had a buddy who was unemployed for 3 years. He complained all the time about how the world was corrupt. One day...out of the blue...he answered an ad at Ameriprise (a major financial company downtown). He was hired and life is easy for him now. He doesn't complain any more...because he realized the world is waiting for you to compete.

Ah yes. When African-Americans can't find work due to lack of educational and economic opportunities, it's laziness. When it happens to white people, it's a crisis.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXII: Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Politicians!

If you've been to the Southwest Florida area you may well have visited Matlacha, home of Leoma Lovegrove's famous gallery. Here's some of her spectacularly popular artwork.

I don't know why exactly, but I'm slighty surprised by this story.

She claims to be religious, and sells her Parrothead-worthy clothing designs exclusively at Bealls, which is about half a step above Walmart in the pantheon of American department stores. So, color me not that surprised when it comes to her "Trumpiness".

That said, her signs should not be vandalized by anyone. JFC, haven't people learned that the more you attack Trumpstains, the more they feel compelled to fight back with even bigger responses?
