I know it won't be...but, I will be pretty disappointed if the map isn't all blue on Nov. 8th...

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XX: Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right.

Apparently RNC rules do not allow for the removal of a candidate. He would have to "voluntarily" (ahem) step down.

Early voting has already begun in some states. That complicates things even more.

I think they're stuck.

yes, stepping down is the only option and what would have to happen.

so when one does step down....... ?

For Trump being so quick to utilize Twitter, the Hillary campaign sure has been dominating the social media circuit these last two months.

Sure, with all their insults*!

* Insult now defined as "someone's own words".

Ok so forget stepping down

So Trump fake apologizes, AND still manages to attack Hillary. Wow. I have no words. This is unreal.

Dark Horse by Fletcher Knebel (1972)
Edward Nicholas Quinn, an obscure New Jersey highway official, had suddenly become a Presidential candidate. Not a serious contender, of course. He was the compromise choice of the National Committee after the sudden death of the party's original nominee. With only three weeks left before the election, no one considered him more than an inoffensive figurehead.

But Eddie Quinn was nobody's figurehead. If he couldn't win, he could at least shake things up. Proposing ideas that would really benefit the minorities, the young, women, and the long-abused working man, he quickly lost the backing of the party's well-heeled supporters and won the admiration of millions of voters.

His refreshingly unorthodox campaign, the twists of fate that test Eddie's influence and integrity, the suspense of a long election night - Fletcher Knebel weaves these elements into a timely and engrossing novel of politics and power in America today.

The book is out of print but available second hand on Amazon. It was a fun read when I read it back in the 70's.

For a story that was "taken out with the trash" on a Friday evening, it's going to be interesting to see if it will stick through the Debate.

We also have a precident for similar recordings thanks to Donald Sterling. Sadly, there is no over-reaching entity that Trump holdings operates as a part of that could force Trump to sell like Sterling was forced by the NBA.

I wonder if Ivanka will make a power play to take the reins of the company to save her father's brand.

Hilary is used to it, she married Bill.

His decision to go to that tired old attack in the same conversation as his "apology" confirms how his narcissism has completely blinded him. How could he not understand how badly that will play? His bedrock supporters don't care--that talk probably appeals to them. But he was seeking to assure voters he needs that he is not an insensitive misogynist. IMO, his apology is as damming as the tape itself.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XX: Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right.

I hope Hillary leaves all the smut alone on Sunday night. Let Trump continue to hang himself, take the high road and wax his *** on policy. He will no doubt play dirty and if she simply exposes him for having no workable platform he'll be 100% cooked.

So she should do the opposite of what worked for her the first time???

Nice of how wimpy Goopers will claim to be sickened by Trump's remarks.....but not enough to not vote for him. Its pretty sad when freakin' Chaffetz, a total loon, is the only sitting officeholder since the story broke to rescind an endorsement.

Every one of his Republican supporters needs to be held accountable for their backing of this nutjob. Or they should all lose with him.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XX: Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right.

What's really sad? Worded differently, Trump was not lying in some of those statements. Let me re-word: "When you're a star, you can get away with a lot more with women than the average Joe."

What does that say about society?

While objectifying women and making claims like this are bad...the real damaging quote is that he was how he was going after married women. That's where traditional conservatives will really struggle.
