Slow doesn't mean stutterer necessarily. I guess some of our slower posters may have taken offense though. Maybe after they've cleaned the crap out of their shorts they'll post a few rebuttals.

Mark -- I haven't thought about Kennedy once in the last decade. Nobody under the age of 50 has any memory of him whatever. You may as well have said we were looking for a new Franklin Pierce.

If somebody talked in the same manner as JFK did 60 years ago today, he'd be buried and nobody would understand what he was talking about.

The Great Reversal happened sometime in the 70s. If you listen to political rallies in the 50s and 60s politicians talk "up" -- the idea is to sound smarter than you are. From the 70s on it is inverted, and you have to fake the aw shucks thing.

The only intellectually eloquent candidate in the last 40 years was Jesse Jackson.
