Yeah this is a "lets keep the fundies happy so nobody notices my 3 marriages" pick. Nothing wrong or exciting in it, which makes it out of the norm for Trump! :D Given the # of people who outright refused to be on his ticket, this is probably the best of the final 3 (Newt, Christie and Pence).

"I'm solid on hating Mexicans and Muslims, but could be better on hating gays and women."
"Mike Pence is available."
"Lock it up."

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XIV: Just Dropped in (To See What Condition My Convention Was

"We have listened to Donald Trump over the past year and we have concluded: Trump would be a disaster for innovation."

That's the top takeaway from nearly 150 officials from the tech industry and elsewhere who on Thursday published a broadside against the GOP presidential candidate, arguing that Trump represents a danger to jobs, exports and the social fabric of the country.

The group of signatories includes Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, as well as Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales and Vint Cerf, who helped develop the Internet. Others include Ev Williams, the co-founder of Twitter; the sitting chief executive of Yelp; the founders of reddit, Slack and Tumblr; and various former federal officials and venture capitalists.

America's Griffter, Sarah Palin, isn't on the GOP Convention speaker list. So, Republicans, no word salad for you.

Trump explained that it's because she lives too far away from Cleveland. (This rates a Bea Arthur "did you bull$h!t today?"). What are the odds she tries to crash the convention the way she did when Romney declared his candidacy in 2012?

Still holding out hope that Trump will let his buddy Vince McMahon orchestrate the opening night with a steel cage match pitting Bully Boys Chris Christie and Paul LaPage against the Smarmy Scotts, Rick Scott and Scott Walker.:D

The problem with an RNC Wrestlemania is it's only heels.

Natalie Gulbis?? What's she gonna do--bend over and pick a golf ball out of a cup?

The banana did not stick to the wall.

The RWNJ don't mind the Jews anymore, though, because they have to rebuild the temple for You Know Who to return.

Overts we haven't had in order of probability in the next 50 years:

Woman: 90%
Latino: 90%
Jew: 40%
LGBT: 30%
Muslim: 10%
Atheist: zippo

We've probably already had an agnostic or atheist Prez, they just weren't public about it. Every pol knows you have to play the churchin' game to get elected.

Oh definitely. I'm sure we've had atheists -- through most of history atheists had to hide because of persecution by the dullards, and of course in politics you always want to pretend you're the person Billy Joe Dumbf-ck would like to have a beer with. The majority of the Founders were such abstract-minded deists as to count as atheists for all real purposes. Generally speaking, the intelligentsia of every society (the real one, not the business or political world talking hairdos) have been atheists. Skepticism comes with the territory of critical, clear thinking and the innate ridicule of argumentum ad verecundiam.

I was going to guess Clinton was our last atheist president.
