Evan Bayh's back to running for Senate in Indiana. Sabato moved the seat from Likely R to tossup

Awesome sauce. Add a .5 to Dem pickups. Senate is looking good.

This is the best argument I've seen put forward that all RNC delegates are unbound, and that state party organizations' rules to the contrary have literally zero legal standing.

Now, whether this has been socialized to the entire delegation, and whether they buy it, and whether they are willing to risk it (since one thing their state organizations can do is punish them when they get home) is anybody's guess.

But what it means is there is at least a compelling case for the validity of a Cleveland Screw Job. They better hurry -- clock's ticking.

Fresh off of threatening the President via Twitter, former representative Joe Walsh uses the attention bump to expand his radio program.

They had 16 dopes, do you think another would matter?

Yep. Some of the other dopes would have been electable, especially given Hillary's perpetual rain cloud. Nobody except Carson and Cruz could possibly have been worse.

Better than a guy who only cares about publicity doesn't mean much.

Question for you political historians. What other major party candidate for the office of President can be most closely compared to tDonald?

Perot is the closest and he did get around 19% but of course he wasn't a major party candidate.

George McLellan maybe? A spite candidacy whose only notoriety was as a failed general.

William Clark? Professional rich idiot (like Trump) who tried to buy the Montana state legislature so he could be placed in nomination.

My prior understanding of McClellan was that he was a small man with an overblown opinion of himself but that he suffered from "paralysis by analysis." Trump has been all mouth so far and hasn't had to act on anything major, but he doesn't seem to fit.

Perot caused a lot of consternation, but I recall him as being a man who believed his message. I can't say why.

The other guy is news to me.

A topical meme I came across just now:

"Sharing your Netflix password is now a federal crime. But what if I'm just 'extremely careless' with it instead?"

:D

Does Oklahoma even have any significant liberal pockets? OKC maybe?

In my youth, I once went to a cockfight in the woods of NE Oklahoma. I swear to god it was something from Out of the Furnace, with a chicken-wire fight pit, guys shouting and waving money, and a red light on the ceiling to warn for cops. Roosters fitted with long spurs. I should have been horrified, but I was fascinated.

Odd thing is, I found the people in that Ozarky, four-state area to be warm, open, and friendly and enjoyed them a lot. It was a coworker friend who owned one of the fighting cocks and convinced me to come along to the fight, knowing I had never seen one. Living there was my first experience with people who could be warm and accepting on a personal level, yet hold political and social beliefs that were extremely intolerant and often bigoted.
