For the same reason it won't be Booker for HRC. A NY-NJ ticket is too close.

I don't think it matters in the internet age. In fact I would't be shocked if the "no sweep" provision is amended in our lifetime. It's nonsense anyway: Bush-Cheney was by all legitimate standards an all-TX ticket. Cheney's "home" in WY was a PO box.

Meanwhile the Republicans just did this.

They've primaried anybody with a soul or a mind off the island. They have self-segregated into a John Birch groupthink so extreme they don't even think they need to lie the way their GOP forefathers did. They have sealed themselves so completely in their bubble they probably don't even know how insane they are.

Hopefully they are about to get a PhD in the reality of social and demographic change in one night.

I was fascinated with the overall polling results because reading here Hillary can't fail at this point.

I don't think anybody but Rover has said that. We know any election can go either way in this environment. Even if the GOP had every bad break and made every bad decision from now until November they would at the VERY worst lose by no more than about 12 points. Things can happen inside a 6-point gap, and that's what the election will likely be.

The presidential vote for Indiana 2008 is all anybody needs to remember. If you reran that 100 times McCain would win 99 of them. Lightning can strike.
