Re: Campaign 2016 Part XII: What Have We Done To Deserve This?

I have to say, I think it's a brilliant move by both Sanders and Trump.

For Bernie: more opportunity to reach CA voters, as well as a chance to show voters exactly how he would stand up to Trump in the general. If he crushes Trump (which is a certainly on substance, though optics may vary), that will certainly make some Democrats take notice. "Whoa - now we know for sure that Sanders will handle Trump....can't be nearly as certain about Clinton."

For Trump: opportunity to diminish visibility and importance of his (almost certain) opponent. Plus, it's time on TV, so he can't resist.

Trump comes all the way to Bismarck to tick off Natives* and he blows the line.

It is Fauxcohontas Warren! :D

*Cross reference the names who confronted The Donald with a list of the most anti-UND nickname folks and you have quite the Venn diagram.

I can't wait for foreign policy discussion with all the intelligence of a YouTube comment thread.

So it is still more intelligent than any post you have had?

So if Hillary loses will you jump allegiances to someone else like you do with sports? :p

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XII: What Have We Done To Deserve This?

From the pure merchant side, is there anybody who's into politics who won't watch a Bernie-Trump debate? Anybody?

So Trump is now borrowing lines from Old Pio? ;)

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XII: What Have We Done To Deserve This?

Is this a joke about how dead his sense of humor is?

Nope, he was calling her "Fauxchaontas" 2-3 years ago after she was caught promoting her distant Native American bloodlines a bit too heavily. Presumably he picked it up from his social circle, or whatever his preferred online righty hangouts were.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XII: What Have We Done To Deserve This?

I dunno. Old Pio (I love that autocorrect capitalizes both of those for me) was a pretty clever guy. I wouldn't be surprised if he came up with that on his own. Or if he picked it up on another board.

If you were in the northeast you would have heard many names for her

And he says he'll get it done quickly. Seems to me that's a states issue...more so than many states issues. This and other 'he'll just do it' sounds like the GOP is signing up for a ferociously huge and pervasive federal government.

The GOP has always loved intrusive big government, as long as its sole focus is on enforcing all the social conservative crapola they believe in.
