Campaign 2016 Part, let's say, X: There's a red moon rising On the Cuyahoga River

"Authenticity. Once you can fake that you can fake anything." :p

I have never been so happy that we have a two year presidential campaign. My faith is that the Drumpf hula hoop will be out of fashion by the time we hit November. It will be 15 months old by then and really wearing on people.

- If you can do one thing better than anyone else, what would it be?

Lie

Dad realizes that he is being ill served by our current political rulers. I'm not saying tD is the answer, but he is tapping into that anger.

BTW - what's happening in the continued adventures of DH?

NL not going to adopt it and the AL doesn't matter.

He's baaaack.

This is Bernie's letter to donors after last night:

We just scored two more victories … big ones, this time in Utah and Idaho.

Here’s why this matters: we walked away from the three states that voted yesterday with a majority of the delegates. That's yuge. That's how we win the nomination.

We always knew last Tuesday was the high water mark for the Clinton campaign. Now it’s our turn to start winning large majorities in many of the remaining states until we take the pledged delegate lead on June 7.

Now we all need to start thinking about what’s next: the 142 delegates at stake in Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii this Saturday.

Bernie drew a huge crowd in Boise, Idaho on Monday and another 14,000 people to a rally in Salt Lake City, Utah last week. And last night we found out that we are actually leading in a general election poll against Donald Trump in Utah.

It isn’t often that a Democratic candidate for president has a chance to carry Utah, but our political revolution is attracting significant support from Democrats, Independents, and even some Republicans. That’s part of the reason we’re the best chance for Democrats to retain the White House, and to enact transformational change after the election.

Perhaps the single most bizarre thing about Drumpf being the nominee is that, in fact, the Democratic nominee really would carry Utah, and easily. The Mormons hate everything about Drumpf. I wondered if this might also be a one-off flip of AZ, too, but no, they are about 4% there. Interestingly the second-most Mormon state is WY (9%), but I can't believe that would be enough for what is basically "what if Dick Cheney were a state?"

Back to Bernie, he now trails Clinton 1214-911 in pledged delegates.

So is Bernie stoned, senile, or some combination of the two? :D

Gotta be tough rooting for somebody losing states, and now ground, to someone stoned and senile...

They don't like her, Rove. They really don't like her.

That makes Trump and Clinton viewed more unfavorably than any front-runner for either party since 1984, when CBS began polling voters on the question.

On the Republican side, Trump scores a net negative of -33, with a favorable rating of 24% compared to 57% of voters who view him unfavorably. On the Democratic side, Clinton fares only slightly better with a net negative of -21, registering a 31% favorable rating and a 52% unfavorable rating, according to the poll.

Hey, we got it done in MI. Still waiting for the rest of the country to hop on board with Bernie.

Ryan is wrong on policy, but at least he's talking about policy.

His economic priorities and preferences would be a disaster for the country just as they have been in places like Kansas, Louisiana and Wisconsin where they have been tried. But at least he's (now) talking about meeting in battle on the merits rather than on "culture wars" or other distractions.

Yes that whopping 10 delegates he netted is going to make all the difference. Looks like you and Bernie have the same dealer! ;)

They don't like ANYBODY Kep. You're getting led around by the media. The public likes nobody who starts to look like they might win. If Kasich or Sanders looked like the frontrunner, they'd be sporting similar #'s (not as bad as Trump but net negative).

Venus in Furs wants Billow to moderate a debate with Drumpf.

The thing I find funniest about this constant refrain you are making is that everything you say after it is always the exact boilerplate that MSNBC and CNN are putting out there. :p

Annie Wilkes will keep dragging the tormented soul of the Democratic party towards her spider hole, while Bernie pecks at her eyes and tries to rescue her prey. Doubtless she has all the advantages, with DWS & Co. having rigged the path, but she still has a long way to go, and with every trudging step more sentients think, "is this torture truly necessary"?

Odds are about 92/8 she'll make it, but you can't blame the good guys for going down fighting.

I'm not down fighting it. If there is a way for her to blow it she'll find it.

Kep its time to come up for air. Nobody watches CNBC or CNN except for friends and family. Hell, we have a bigger audience in this thread!

Second, Sanders has been exposed as a senile old crank with no accomplishments nor any semblance of a progressive movement at his beck and call despite 25 years in Congress. The concept of Bernie sounded good, but when you started looking at his proposals, you can tell why he never gets any co-sponsors on his legislation. If he wants to claim to be the conscience of the Democratic party, no worries. If he wants to lead it, the voters have spoken loud and clear, and they've said NO F'in WAY! :D

First they ignore you, check
then they laugh at you, check
then they fight you, and dude, you guys better get on the stick

But here. Olive branch. I'll throw you a bone in the spirit of Solidarność Demokratyczny.

I guarantee than in 6 months 95% of Fox viewers and Rush listeners will believe this actually happened.

Keep hitting that bong and hoping for the best! At this rate he should catch up to her by the end of the 2020 primaries... :D :D :D

Good enough for me. I'm not proud. Or tired.

Time isn't exactly on Old Ironsides' side either, you know. :p

It's all pattycake until the Sherrod Brown/Russ Feingold 2020 ticket, anyway.
