Campaign 2016 - It's never too late to start all over again!

Re: Campaign 2016 - It's never too late to start all over again!

I've been shouting this from the rooftops for years. ITS ABOUT THE MONEY. Fox, ABC, NBC, CBS, cable, hollywood films, TV shows, radio programs - all designed to pull in a particular audience and thus deliver the ratings which turn into money. Does anyone seriously think Rush Limbaugh or Rachel Maddow would be on the air if they weren't pulling in the bucks for themselves and their employers? why aren't their more TV shows aimed at the minus 16 crowd or the 85+ crowd? they don't spend the money.

It would not surprise me to see that Murdoch gives to both conservatives and liberals. its called "hedging your bets". either way you've got an inside with the candidate should he/she be elected. when owners and executives get together, its no longer about politics, its about industries. and $$$$$.

hate to be cynical. just sayin'.

10:1 with no adjustment for odds paid isn't exactly "hedging your bet".

This will be an interesting test of the far right tactic of blaming their own hypocrisy on the "liberal media." Huckabee and Santorum are calculating they're in too deep anyway so they might as well bluff it out as a "testament to their loyalty and their convictions to love the sinner while hating the sin." Any of us could write a decent press release blaming all of this on their Usual Suspects. When they get done it won't be the son's fault at all, it will be porn, secular humanism, and feminism. In fact, the son will be a hero in surviving this personal tragedy and making himself a better Christian for it. He will, it will turn out, be the real victim in all this.

There's an opportunity here for a Republican to have a Sister Souljah Moment and call these grifters and the massive industry that enables them out on its BS. There have to be fiscal conservatives who are repelled by Big Thumper and would reward a candidate who admitted this emperor has no clothes, but none of the GOP candidates has any sort of bravery or leadership ability.

It wont be Ted Cruz...he defended him too if I read correctly.

Ted Cruz: While there may have been an age difference, Josh Duggar's transgressions are far less an affront to God than what gays do to each other.

He said that on 5/22 supposedly...

I'm fascinated by what a free pass GOP candidates have been getting since they all were playing kiss @ ss with this Duggar guy. No point in condemning the dude if nobody is calling you out. Can you imagine if this happened with a Democrat?

On point, article of the year regarding the political press..

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...ary-clinton-but-what-if-she-doesnt-need-them/

In particular:

"And while I don’t have any direct evidence for this, I suspect that to at least some degree reporters share conservatives’ frustration that all the Clinton scandals and mini-scandals and pseudo-scandals haven’t taken them down. In a way it’s an affront to the power of the press. When we splash headline after headline about allegations of misbehavior across our papers, when we devote hour after hour on television to the fact that “questions are being raised,” well that’s supposed to make an impact. It’s supposed to drive the politician in question to the depths of ignominy. It’s not supposed to leave them in exactly the same position as they were when it started."

Republicans are hanging out with child molesters, and nary a peep to be heard. Liberal bias my arse!

Ancillary to the FIFA issue, which is obviously deplorable, how is Budweiser able to advertise in Qatar for the FIFA games?

C.R.E.A.M. Remember there was something like this in Brazil. There were laws banning certain types of ads and the sale of alcohol in stadiums and FIFA told Brazil, "yeah... about that... the contract you signed means you have to change your laws." Popular sovereignty is powerless in the face of multinational corporations.

Don't like it? Don't make a bid.

The people in the country aren't making the bids. This is just a more overt case than usual of rich people playing checkers with poor people.

Oh, I'm well aware that commerce departments are the ones pushing for the bids to be made in order to bring more attention to the country. It will be a long time before FIFA dies off.

As a matter of protest, I will not watch a single FIFA game from here on out.
