Campaign 2016 - in bridge, the trump cards are really wild.

To add:

Washington is also critical for the Republicans to get at least one candidate above 20% so Trump doesn't take all of the delegates there.

Another one I've been saying all along is that Cruz needs to win Wisconsin as well. It's certainly possible if they lose Rubio after 3/15. And, if Rubio drops out, NY might come into play slightly. There's a chance that Cruz can crack 20% and Kasich has a very outside shot at cracking 20% as well. That would take 1/3 of the 95 delegates.

If California falls to Trump, all is lost for the GOP.

Republican candidates on who is to blame for violence at Drumpf rallies.

Without peeking, I'm going to have to go with "Obama."

This is a fantastic piece on all the things that could happen at a contested convention. Among the many things I learned is this **** little number about the notorious Rule 40:

But even if some version of the eight-state rule remains in effect—and, again, it might not—all Ryan, Romney, or anyone else would need to do would be to get a majority of delegates in the necessary number of states to pledge their support prior to a roll call vote, at which point they’d be eligible for that round of voting. Remember, most delegates will arrive at the convention bound—which should stop noncandidates from being nominated before the first vote—but once enough of them become unbound, they’d theoretically be free to declare their support for someone new. As currently written, Rule 40 doesn’t require a candidate to have won eight states during the primary season—or even to have competed in them—it only requires that a majority of delegates from those states declare their support in writing one hour before the roll call vote in question. Again, the rulebook is written in such a way that it’s open to interpretation; it’ll be the rules committee and the delegates that decide how they want to do the interpreting. If enough Republicans want a white knight to slay Trump, they’ll find a way to get him to the floor.

Political scientists everywhere are praying to their little figurines of Nicolas de Condorcet and Seymour Martin Lipset that this happens.

I didn't realize Trump comes out to the Chicago Bulls intro theme during his rallies.

This could be interesting - a judge has ruled that 17 year olds can vote in the Ohio primary.

tD cancels Chicago rally amid security concerns. He needs to spend some cash and I guarantee NOBODY will disrupt his rally(ies).

Sirius by The Alan Parsons Project. Pretty commonly used after Jordan and Da Bulls made it popular.

I was under the impression it would be allowed IF their 18th birthday is before the November general.

That impression was correct until last week when they decided to interpret the rule a different way, saying the primaries do not elect candidates, but delegates, and 17 year olds cannot vote for delegates.

I guess Chicago has to do this once every 50 years or so.

Probably doesn't technically belong here, but I am catching up on the current season of 60 Minutes and watched Ep 8 that has an interview with Paul Ryan. I'll never agree with every position of his, but my Parise what an adult he is compared with the current lot foisted upon the masses.

which is why he didn't run. No grown ups allowed

Sorry to hear about Trump canceling his rally. A real candidate wouldn't be so weak. Sad!

Is what I hope one of the candidates left would tweet at him.

Freepers loathe him so much. It's great. :) They call him "Paul Ryno".

My mental image was of some floor skirmishes. It actually sounds like it was much worse.

The next step will be for some wackjob militia to volunteer to be his private security, which will make the Hell's Angels at Altamount look like Earth Day.

I wonder if the Drumpf defenders will say the lady in the tweet towards the bottom was "raising her hand" or come up with different nonsense to hide the fact that she is full on giving the Nazi Salute!

This is getting downright scary...we joke and talk about how funny it is and how much entertainment is to come but this is starting to pass beyond that into the realm of the horrid. The more we sensationalize this, the worse it is going to get.

Chicago PD call his bluff. No one from the Trump campaign contacted UIC or the CPD regarding security concerns.

Rumor on WBBM Newsradio was Drumpf was a late addition to a Republican dinner in the suburbs. Same one Cruz was supposed to be at.

But that's not ok. Just for wackjob lefty Dem groups to "protest" and disrupt a political gathering during the primary season.
Mookie supposed if this happens next to bern and hilly you'll be cool with that too ;)

Re: Campaign 2016 - in bridge, the trump cards are really wild.

I know your comment was sarcastic but holy cow. This is very, very scary to me.

It isn't OK that tD encourages people to wack non-supporters or reminisce in a positive way about a time when people would be violently discouraged from disagreeing. It isn't OK for opposing people physically assault folks because their 'leader' encourages these tactics.

If these folks were all children parents would be telling them to grow up and realize this is not how one should behave. This is what bullying looks like on a grand scale, like watching a bully in school or work place intimidate everyone. Bully is such a cliche word but I can't think of a better descriptor.

Saw a thing on FB with tK calling out the opposition for horrible behavior like there was no provocation. That was disappointing. I had wanted him to be a voice of reason. My feed is filled with one side ignoring provocation and the violence occuring at the rallys and the other side ignoring that volence happened at all and glorifying the protest. I feel like my grip on reality must be mislaid.
