If it's a Star of David the center star shouldn't be there. But I wouldn't be shocked that there's another of those nutty Masonic symbols they threw in there.
I assume the center star was added to bring the number to 13.

It shouldn't be that hard to figure out. When was this design created? Not that long ago, I don't think.

Edit: Maybe the 1930's? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_certificate_(United_States)

It shouldn't be that hard to figure out. When was the first one dollar bill used? Not that long ago, I don't think.

I'm sure there an explanation for every symbol on the design. They sweat every freaking detail on those things.

Snopes rates this a mix.

His political instincts are vastly underrated. The man has built a billion dollar fortune on appealing to the consumer and giving/telling them what they want to hear. He correctly realizes the base of the GOP, which is made up of educated people, who are angry that the country has become ruled by people who want to take their money and give it to others....

Fixed it :p

Cruz' jump is huge. Hopefully he mistimed it and the new scrutiny will knock him down again before it's too late.

Trump's splits are hysterical. About half of all Republicans think he would be best able to deal with ISIS. Really? Tell me again why I should take the right seriously.

FOX Opinion Channel had Rudy frigging G on and asked him for his expert analysis on the San Bernadino attacks less than 24 hours after. These foaming at the mouth nimrods already have the script written for the next attack, but have left the names, locales and number of dead blank until they can fill it in later.

Exactly.

Not sure how this will play.

One of Florida’s biggest conservative Republican moneymen — and a billionaire backer of Jeb Bush — is so disgusted by Donald Trump’s candidacy that if he has to, he’ll do the unthinkable:

“If I have a choice — and you can put it in bold — if I have a choice between Trump and Hillary Clinton, I’m choosing Hillary,” Miami healthcare magnate Mike Fernandez told the Miami Herald on Friday. “She’s the lesser of two evils.”

Outraged by Trump’s unimpeded ascent, Fernandez is taking on the GOP frontrunner himself. He purchased a full-page ad in the upcoming Sunday edition of the Herald calling Trump a “narcissistic BULLYionaire with a hunger to be adored.” He also likened him to some of history’s bloodiest demagogues.

“You have no idea how furious I am with my friends in the Republican Party who have embraced this guy,” Fernandez said.

Fernandez, who also plans to run the ads in Des Moines and Las Vegas newspapers on Dec. 14, said he didn’t notify the Bush campaign of his plans. Fernandez was the single highest donor to the political committee backing Bush, Right to Rise USA, as of the last financial disclosure report at the end of June. His contribution: more than $3 million.

“My frustration is really with that sector of Republican voters that are so blinded by the demagoguery” of Trump, Fernandez said.

Question for our conservative posters. Does this kind of stuff have any impact on the campaign? It certainly plays into the narrative that the establishment party is terrified at Trump's popularity and trying to get ahead of this before it becomes a fait accompli. I have no doubt that if Trump actually took the nomination this guy would retract after an "agonizing reappraisal when I realized Hillary is simply too dangerous for the country yadda yadda..."

But is the town/gown rivalry going on in the party now going to matter at all down the line?

You have one silver spoon POS whining about another TF F. It makes people who like Trump because he is an outsider like him even more.

But does it estrange them farther from the Mothership if the RNC manages to sneak through Jeb or Rubio as the nominee? Every time there is an explicit repudiation of the Tea Party by the Republicans, or vice versa, it raises the question of whether that divide will just seal up again after the convention.

I have absolutely NO doubt that if a Tea Party darling wins the GOP nomination then the full party apparatus will jump behind him, all this grandstanding notwithstanding. The GOP is a machine for gaining power, not scoring ideological victories. The party will come around.

My instinct is if it goes the other way the Tea Party will just swallow hard and fall in behind the mainstream guy, like they did with Romney. But when GOPers start insulting them, that raises the possibility that they'll just sit it out. I'm asking, does anybody think the mainstream GOP could actually alienate the TP enough for that to happen?

I think this is the first strike in The Money picking sides. At least publicly known strikes.

While I will almost certainly vote for Hillary come November, it's nice to see the establishment finally striking back. It's nice to see that they realize you can't go nuclear on every issue. That you need reasonable plans (whether or not USCHO posters agree with them). I think this is an explicit acknowledgment that Trump is a threat to the GOP. If he marches in flying the GOP standard, the public will remember that in four years (or God forbid, eight) not only nationally but locally. I firmly believe that. It took Kansas a few years to figure out it, but I would be shocked to see Brownback or the closest of his Republican Guard in office come 2018.

I know it's been said dozens of times, "Finally, this is what knocks Trump out of the campaign" only to have his numbers go up or stay flat. But I think this is the day we'll look back and see the pivot away from this clown. I hope.
