Christians, yes. Bible thumpers, no. ~70% of Americans identify as some form of Christian. They are in control.

The latter is the derp subset of the overall group. They do not control things, because even among Christians they are far from a majority.

Before you start to worry, here's something to cheer you up.

tl; dr: Bernie's jump from decimal dust to 33% reflects him picking up all his low-hanging fruit: we unabashed leftists. From 33 to 51 he's going to have to bite into the moderates. With the (corporate-owned, remember) mainstream media poo-pooing him every second and with the Clintons equivalent of a war chest Death Star to slow him, he has likely reached about as high as he will go.

I'd like to see him edge into the 40s nationally to throw a scare in Hillary and coerce out commitments on a few more good policy initiatives. But even if this is the end, I'm still grateful for the positive push he's put on the old girl, not to mention the energy he's pouring into Dem grassroots.

We need a strongly liberal running mate with the, ahem, correct demographics to round out the ticket. Some possibles:

State Rep. Rafael Anchia, 46, Texas
State Auditor Hector Balderas, 41, New Mexico
San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro, 40, Texas
State Rep. Joaquín Castro, 40, Texas
State Rep. Pete Gallego, 54, Texas
Sheriff Adrian Garcia, 54, Texas
U.S. Rep. Luis Gutiérrez, 52, Illinois
State Rep. Ana Hernandez Luna, 37, Texas
State Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer, 45, Texas
State Sen. Alejandro “Alex” Padilla, 42, California
Assembly Speaker John Pérez, 45, California
Former San Antonio Councilman Justin Rodriguez, 40, Texas
U.S. Rep. Loretta Sanchez, 55, California

I'm not worried at all, and let me reiterate I like Bernie Sanders. I am a bit amused when liberals start looking to the Boston Herald for honest polling of the Democratic race.. :eek:

Sanders problem thru no fault of his own is 1) he has little support amongst minorities and 2) good luck winning women over Hillary especially with the Planned Parenthood stuff going on. Aside from young lefties that's pretty much the Dem coalition aside from unions.

(and if bubba was the first black president, why can't hill be the first hispanic president?)
