Re: Campaign 2014: The Epic Struggle To Win The Senate And Change Nothing

Gee, if this was actually true then the election results nation wide would not have turned out like they did. And this wasn't a close election. If you think it was strictly due to turnout, why didn't the lefties turn out to support candidates who align with this president? Simple... he is not worth supporting anymore and things aren't as good as you try to make them out to be.

The reason is that for some inexplicable reason, Obama and the Democrats will not run on the things that have gotten better, will not stand up and counter the rightwing noise machine that clamors that everything is going to hell in a handbasket. You can't argue that the economy isn't better than it was when he took office. Could it be better? Sure. The income inequality thing is a real problem, although you Republicans will never admit it.

6 years in and it's still Bush's fault?

The middle east sure is. Cheney''s actually, if you want to be accurate. Invading Iraq will go down in history as one of the greatest geo-political blunders of all time.

Blah, blah, blah. After Tuesday night, I was reminded of what Boss Jim Gettys said to Charlie Kane:

If it was anybody else, I'd say what's going to happen to you would be a lesson to you. Only you're going to need more than one lesson. And you're going to get more than one lesson.

Enjoy watching your beloved lame duck hop around on one wing for the next two years. He's a failed president. What happened Tuesday night was a rejection of him and his policies. You can blame Bush 'till the cows come home. But Barrack Hussein Obama, apart from being "historic" because of his race (or half of it, at least) is a terrible president. And history will reflect that analysis. History is already demonstrating it, given that he's the first president in US history to back a failed candidate for governor in his own state. In this case, the worst governed, most corrupt state in the union.

The thing is the economy has rebounded and if that was the only thing I cared about, I'd be happy with Obama's performance thus far. But the problem is he never prosecuted any of the people who caused a global financial crisis, money in politics is bigger than ever, corporate tax loopholes are still very much a thing, income inequality hasn't gotten any better, and it doesn't seem like he's done anything to actually fix the root problems of our economy because he constantly bows down to the interests of the wealthy. Obviously nothing is going to get done now with the results of the recent elections but it's not like he never had a chance to accomplish these things.

Which is why it's hilarious when people call him a socialist or what have you, it couldn't be any further from the truth.

In the end maybe his initial goals were unrealistic, but a lot of people were hoping that he would address these issues and he just left a lot of young voters feeling cynical is my guess.

Exactly. My major problem with him is he won't stand up to the powers that be and govern on Democratic ideals. His entire term has been about him wanting people to like him. And he just can't get it through his head that Republicans are never going to, no matter what he does, no matter what concessions he gives to them.

This pretty much sums up what Kepler, me, and others have been getting at.

We are dazed and confused that while voters in Colorado voted against the state’s latest attempt to enact a personhood amendment declaring every sperm is sacred, those same voters elected Republican Cory Gardner, big HUGE fan of personhood, to the Senate. Which means voters in Colorado are against the very policies their new senator supports, which does not make any kind of sense, but hey, maybe all that legal recreational weed affected their rational thinking? Or maybe Democrats did a **** poor job of defending progressive policies they supposedly support? Or maybe Americans are just plain dumb and don’t even know what they want? Or maybe all of the above?

And no, Republicans aren't racist...................

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/cspan-caller-obama-n-word

"I would just like to say, that the Republicans -- and I'm a Republican -- please do not overreach," the caller began. "I know they're going to overreach but I'm telling you, if you advocate for the repeal of Obamacare and you get too extreme, then Hillary Clinton will be elected President in 2016."

"This is about race," he added. "The Republicans hate that nigger Obama."

Luckily Bush has domestic policy on his side, like when he gave every American a $300 tax rebate to "make a house payment" thus avoiding a crippling national mortgage crisis.

Or maybe Coloradans had had that bullsh*t "war on women" nonsense up to here. Maybe Coloradans aren't single issue twerps. The central Democrat theme--"free birth control for rich b*tches" just didn't seem to work. Senator Uterus surely made the effort though, didn't he?

BTW, not only did that classless b*tch Wendy Davis not crack 40% in her race for Texas governor, her seat in the state senate was taken by a Tea Party Republican. LOL.

Wait, wait, wait. That guy got elected in Colorado Springs? Colorado Springs?? The home of (only Berkeley, Madison, and Boulder are more left leaning) Colorado College? Those folks needs to lay off the "legalized herb" before going to the polls apparently.

Colorado Springs is ground zero for nutbar megachurches. That fundy grifter that Obama invited to the inauguration operates out of there, as did the "I A-Hates Me Teh Gayz" pastor who got nailed on banging his gay lover while rolling around in coke.

Co. Springs is the new Lynchburg. My wife and I considered moving there since it's so gorgeous, but a major reason we didn't was the density (both senses) of thumpers. We get enough of that here in meth country.

You know. Free stuff.

It always amazes me that the GOP accuses liberals of "handing out free stuff." Whaddya think the tax cuts that destroyed the economy were other than short term bribery with no regard to long term consequences?

Re: Campaign 2014: The Epic Struggle To Win The Senate And Change Nothing

She isn't Bill, she doesn't have the personality to bring out the troops. If she did she'd be president right now instead of Obama.

We shall see. I don't see her charisma at all, but every women with an IQ north of 85 would walk over broken glass for her. c.f. Atwood, Margaret. Can't string two coherent sentences together but she's the darling of every college graduate with bewbs.

(The ladies appear to be a little ticked off for being treated like garbage and mansplained to for the last 2500 years. Don't get in the way of that, just say "uh huh" and do the dishes...)

We really should apologize. It's d*mn thoughtless of us not to provide you with a country of which you approve.

Tax cutting may or may not be a good idea. But you and the rest of the chorus seem to forget, the money belongs to us. It's ours. Not the government's. We earned it. So if government takes less of it, we aren't getting anything "for free." We are keeping more of that which is ours.

Duh :) I still think your hero Liawatha has a better shot. She can rally the troops. Especially after Boner and Mitch **** this all up and get nothing meaningful done
