Is Opie ever in a good mood? This might be the last successful GOP election he sees in his lifetime and he's on some odd race-driven rant about Eric Holder intimidating white voters or some nonsense?
He's afraid, just like most of the electorate.

It's based upon a few reports out of Philly that the Black Panthers were intimidating white voters away from the polls there in 2008, trying to ensure an Obama victory. The police never sent anyone to check it out, and Holder declined to investigate after he took office. I vaguely recall reports of the same thing happening again in 2012, with the same outcome. Some people say that the fix was in, others that they were just stories and not at all reality.

If you want to know anything about it just tune in to Fox News tonight. They'll be all over it.

Career prosecutors in the "Justice" Department resigned because Holder refused to prosecute an obvious case of voter intimidation. If it had been Klansmen intimidating voters in Chicago, I suspect the outcome would have been different.

Evidently ignorance is bliss.

Re: Campaign 2014: The Epic Struggle To Win The Senate And Change Nothing

There's another video out there showing a naked old white guy outside a polling place in Arizona holding up a sign that says "NIXON WAS FRAMED". I won't post a link for obvious reasons as I'm sure nobody wants to see Opie in the buff, but talk about voter intimidation: people were running out of that polling place screaming like banshees. :D ;)

I remember this story, it was hilarious. They had a photo of a NBP "intimidating" an old white lady. He was holding the door for her and she was thanking him.

The Rorschach Test is that some Repubs are so terrified by any black person that if they see one at their polling place that's prima facie "intimidation" -- it's the black guy's fault for being black. c.f. the "I felt threatened" stalked-while-black murder excuse.

This attitude is captured perfectly in the line from In the Heat of the Night: "There was a time when I could have had you shot." They are Endicott, we are Tibbs, and they've lost their lynching privileges.

I'm actually amazed one of these eftards hasn't whipped out his second amendment phallus and killed somebody at the polls. Yet. I guess that happens in 2016.

You can't really believe that sh*t. They were in paramilitary uniforms. And had clubs. The Voting Rights Act is quite clear about what constitutes voter intimidation. And that's what those hairdressers were up to. And you d*mn well know it. And if it had been David Duke, his cracker a*s should have been prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Just as these nancy boys should have been prosecuted.

You're on record as approving minimizing the First Amendment rights for the "right" folks. And also, evidently, voter intimidation by the "right" folks.
If it had been David Duke in his Klan robes, I'd imagine your view would be different.

It's revealing that you lefties simply can't condemn the mincing, lady boy thugs of the New Black Panther Party and their voter intimidation tactics. Why?

This is pretty absurd. The guy in the suit digging for ear wax and the woman in the background talking on her phone certainly don't seem intimidated. (Not to mention the disconnect between the idea that they're intimidating and the idea that they're mincing lady boys. Which is it?) Where's the intimidation here? I can't condemn this because I don't see anything to condemn. If anything I want to commend him for staying calm when the guy taking the video is trying to provoke him.

Anyway, I thought it was OK to have weapons openly displayed in public. That's what the right wingers keep telling me anyway. So I'm not sure what the problem is here.

Why? Maybe because it goes without saying that standing outside a polling place wielding a billy club is unacceptable?

edit: ok, based on other responses, I guess it doesn't go without saying to everyone. I, for one, think it's obvious...

You seem quite outraged at the Obama Justice department for declining to pursue the civil case, but don't seem quite so outraged at the Bush Justice department for declining to pursue a criminal case. Why is that?

Typical lib hypocrisy.

Re: Campaign 2014: The Epic Struggle To Win The Senate And Change Nothing

I know I'm past the point in today's America where negros with sticks intimidate me!

"None of the Above" was the correct choice for MI gov. Should've written in Mel for the lulz, but I bet none of the fossils working my precinct would know him or get the joke. :)

wish I had thought of it. maybe we could have gotten a few students to go along. it would have been funny to see his name on the results with 20-30 votes. :)

Re: Campaign 2014: The Epic Struggle To Win The Senate And Change Nothing

If Opie didn't exist, liberals would have to invent him. ;)
