No, but there are other disinfo tactics the suits can employ that trick people of average or worse intelligence into voting against what might be in their best interests.

Random aside: I’ll always remember my a-ha moment regarding layman journalists. At Cornell, I was friends with a polo team member who happened to be an English major. She did a summer internship at Polo Magazine (or whatever the premiere polo magazine is called). Out of the entire magazine staff, she was the only one who had ever even sat on a polo pony. The rest were just journalists with a gig - next week they might be writing for Gardening Monthly or the Journal of Gothic Tattoos.

Sports writing is famous for this. Bunch of wannabes who never played past squirts. The TV guys have the experience but need to be taught English. It’s a fun world.

I'm gonna guess that the insurance payout for lost cargo is cheaper for Evergreen than paying Egypt what sounds like extortion.

Also, I would love to see an itemized bill of services, because their ain't no way in hell that boat needed $1 Bil in time and materials work...
 
The boat is meaningless. Far more important is if Egypt tells Evergreen to pound sand (there's a joke in there) and that they don't get to use the Suez anymore.

Maybe they could shift their entire fleet of Asia-Europe boats, but that's not ideal.
 
Keep an eye on the markets this morning... CDC and FDA are asking for a halt to the Johnson & Johnson Covid vaccine after more cases of blood clotting have been reported.

Airlines, hotels, and other travel stocks are moving downward in pre-market trading.
 
Dow is down a little but NASDAQ is up 100 and S&P is up like 4. I dont think the J&J news will have a huge impact because more people get the Pfizer or Moderna shots.

Agreed, I was kind of surprised I got Pfizer. I (wrongly) assumed they were earmarking the mRNA vaccines for high-risk individuals and planning to throw all of the J&J vector vax at healthy people under 50.
 
Dogecoin has made me $70 so far today. Not bad since I havent been in the black on it since I bought it a few months ago ;^)

Long term goal: Burn Wall Street to the ground.
Short term goal: Stop reporting the DOW and NASDAQ. They aren't the economy. The economy is unemployment and inflation.

In the last 72 hours I went from a loss to almost doubling my investment. Elon Musk and Mark Cuban are making me lots of cash!

It won't last (until the cryptos start merging) but my buddy and I are having fun watching how this literal joke has now become somewhat valuable. I figure until the Bitcoin Crash (which will happen, it is ridiculously overvalued because Asian Countries are obsessed with it and overmining it) might as well ride the rollercoaster :^)

I was gonna say, wasn't Dogecoin a parody of Bitcoin and the guy who started it actually went online and said "for god's sake I am imploring you not to buy this it is a joke; the whole point is this is how people lose their shirts!"?

Pretty much yeah. I think that all changed with $Gamestop. Once people like Musk started talking up all cryptos but especially Doge it started to become legit and Cuban has the Mavericks poised to be very Doge heavy. He owns a lot and wants it to hit $1. He also wants his team to accept it at games when it becomes viable.

Honestly blame China and a few other places...they have entire office buildings mining for Bitcoin and other cryptos to the point that none of us has much shot of ever getting it. Some cryptos have made it so those actions aren't allowed or rewarded but Doge is seen by many as the perfect democratization of cryptocurrency.
 
I own some crypto- put 4K in as a joke last July and it’s worth $14k today. But I’m not convinced it will stay

Dump question. My understanding of crypto currencies is they reach a point where no new volume is added. At that point does mining stop? And if mining stops how do you ensure the chain?
