For all the talk about Gamestop...the Dude Bros actually did do some good with what is happening but for a different company:

As an AMC subscriber I have been watching their downfall closely. This is welcome news to me! I wish I had known they were going to make their plays the low price would have made the risk worth the reward if I had been paying attention.

I get the impression that a month ago WSB was mostly people who knew enough to avoid ridiculous scams, but with this hitting the news it's Eternal September and the place has been inundated by n00bs who know nothing (like me) and also have no caution or impulse control (unlike me).

So the original WSB are going to get out making gains, and the nouveau WSB are going to hold the bag.

Hmmmm, sounds like the Wall Street finance houses.

Of course. They make their trades first and then make ours, so we are burned going up and going down. We always hold the bag and its legal because they make the rules.

Finance is the most refined form of theft ever created.

The only time I got angry about a bet (i almost never do period even to this day) was a 5 bet on NCAA football when I need Michigan to cover and they lost the cover on a last second hail Mary to ND or CO. Would have won me about 5 grand. Ugh.

But they also use the amount of money they trade, to influence whether stocks go up or down(much like the Reddit crew) and then use their inside info to bail and leave the average trader stuck with their dicks in their hands, while they count their profits.

Kinda impressed with the 500 at twenty cents.

*edit* Can someone explain the April 16th 2021 Call at $12 on that line?

500 contracts that give the owner the option to buy 100 shares per contract at $12 per share on April 16th.

he paid $0.20 per share for the contracts (500 * 100 * 0.20 = $10,000)

The contracts are currently worth $308 per share ($15,400,000)

The options were $0.20 per share because they were way “out of the money” when he bought them and it was likely they would expire worthless.

I don't know how insane this is, but the speculation on WSB is that the companies got together and decided that they would blatantly manipulate the market because no matter what fines the SEC eventually hands out they will be a fraction of what they would have lost had they played straight.

Somebody also ran numbers and claimed that just ending buys on Thursday reduced the hedges' losses by $6B.

Cohen deleted his Twitter because he thought commenting on the GME/RH issue was a good idea, and was snarky and cocky about it to top it off. That led to a beef with Barstool and now the account is deactivated.

Another great moment in LOLMets history.

This is the one thing that really astounds me in all of this. The potential number of jobs that may have been saved is the biggest thing.
