LOL at Jim Cramer this morning on CNBC.

(After discussing all the issues big banks are having handling the influx of the business loan requests...)

Cramer: '*sigh* We screwed up. We should have went with the small local banks. We thought the big banks would be best.

We went to college for finance and economics, graduated, and we're still stupid.'

Or, just cut everyone a check.

Re: Business, Economics, and Taxes: Capitalism. Yay? >=(

Also, the only reason the USPS loses money is it is prohibited by Congress from making money. It could actually be a significant revenue producer. It has been sabotaged by I HATE TEH KUMMINISMS!!!11 righty morons and the private parcel delivery lobby.

It's funny. If a person wants to kill the USPS, that is almost the #1 sign to me that he or she is a moron. Even moreso than being an anti-vaxxer.

Screw Jim Cramer. He always sides with the Big Banks (cause he is totally a shill for them) and then when things dont work out the way they are supposed to he throws his hands up and says "SORRY! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THIS WOULD GO SO SIDEWAYS!?!?!?" In '08 when he had his beef with Jon Stewart it was maybe the best work TDS ever did. (especially when JS interviewed him and not only caught him lying but showed video to prove it)

I wouldnt trust Jim Cramer to feed my cat...

A friend of mine is working 12-16 hours a day on shuffling through giant stacks of SBA loan applications. She said on each loan, the bank gets a $5k fee. WINNING

Only if approved??

My generation finally stopped buying our lattes and avocado toast.

Still can't afford a house, though.

They are all approved, it’s the bailout money. Any business just has to state that they “have been negatively impacted by the coronavirus” and Mnuchin backs up the dump truck load of cash, and the bank sticks their wheelbarrow in the stream.
Edit: of course they are only described as loans in the short term, they’re grants.

A song I wrote for work.

Sung to the tune of "If I'd a Known You Were Coming (I'd Have Baked a Cake):

Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllll

If you thought that our network was slow before

Boohoo :p The network at my site was bad enough that WFH is no difference.

As simple as what?
Our neighbor has a restaurant that was doing gangbusters business on takeout up until last week. We have increased our patronage along with everyone else in the county so you had to stand in an appropriately distanced line to pick up your order. Late last week they announced they were closing because they had the opportunity to completely remodel the place and expand things.
I was wondering about the timing of a massive new investment, until I talked to the banker. The feds are just shoveling out free money as fast as they can print it. All the owners had to do was say the dine-in area has been closed because of the virus.
I don't know why this was so easy for virtually every European country and we can't even put our pants on. If the government tells you to close, they should cover your regular payroll until they tell you you can reopen. Simple. Instead, we've got Trump loading rolls of money in a T-shirt gun and just shooting them around the country at random.

mookie's trying to figure out if his snuff video business is eligible for a SBA loan. Sounds like from your post that it is in fact eligible for some gubmint cash. ;)

Not really. If its a snuff video biz, he won't be keeping them all on the payroll.

I didn't think any money was going out?

Re: Business, Economics, and Taxes: Capitalism. Yay? >=(

I didn't think any money was going out?

Nice try. The problem wasnt that money wasnt going out it was that the rollout was a mess (and rushed) and it was so underfunded that quite a few small businesses arent getting the amount they need. (well below the number the plan was supposed to give them) The morons guessed wrong on how many people would need it and here we are. And the banks want nothing to do with this at all because they almost certainly arent going to make a dime off it.

But I mean...sure the plan is great. That is why small businesses arent in any trouble anymore amirite?
