I get what you're saying, but that doesn't really say happiness so much as it screams a vacuum of self-worth.

He is the richest man in the world and is literally destroying a company he bought because he made a stupid decision. His definition of happiness is different than ours.

Elmo is so stupid he is now basically forcing celebs to keep their Twitter Blue even if they say they don't want it. Lebron was offered free Twitter Blue, turned it down and they gave it to him anyways because it looks good for his 52 million followers.

Elon Musk is Donald Trump if he actually had money.

Ok some of the fake tweets are great I wont lie!

Unverifying all of the regional and local governments worldwide is going to work great for them. No longer making yourself one of the places where people go religiously to get important updates to their daily lives is sure to increase traffic.

Lol it really is. Reintroducing problems solved dozens of iterations earlier.

Obviously can't confirm but Ben Coll8ns is usually on top of this:

Curious how many people actually signed up for Twitter Blue yesterday and today? Well, I've got the numbers and I'll be telling them to @JoyAnnReid on MSNBC in ten minutes.
Here's a hint: They were net +28 between signups and cancellations. Not 2,800. Twenty-eight.

Further info from the string:

the 420,000 legacy verified blue checks, about 320 signed up for Twitter Blue and around 290 got rid of Twitter Blue as of about noon today, @travisbrown told me today.

Genius...

Genius...

Speaking of ditching Twitter Blue, I can't confirm, but I saw a couple people Tweet yesterday that they had either tried Twitter Blue when it first came out and stopped or they just recently stopped payment/removed payment info when this fiasco was announced and they still retained their checkmark and can't get rid of it.

Good to see Elmo based Twitter Blue off whatever system USCHO Plus was using.

Yeah I saw that too. Honestly I think Elmo won't let them so he can pretend it is a success. Like how Lebron has it still even though he refused to pay and refused to be gifted it. Elmo knows if only losers like Catturd and Right Wing provocateurs have it no one will take it seriously. The amount of Right Wingers who are making (bad) cases for why people should pay for Blue is pretty funny...especially since the responses are either bots, fellow morons or (90%) liberals just laughing at someone wasting their money to self identify as a mark!

Elmo is doing everything he can to entice engagement and it isn't working. He is no longer just referencing RWNJ BS but he is openly hostile towards the Bidens in a Qanon like crazy way. If I didn't know better I would say he fell down the rabbit hole and can't get out but the truth is he made the same miscalculation the GOP did. He thought you could dogwhistle this stuff to offset the liberals and media types that are disengaging or outright leaving and then apologize and sooner or later everything would be ok. Despite his legendary genius apparently he sucks at math and economics because if you want people to pay for something alienating the majority is not the way to make money. This is not some niche podcast that is fine eeking out profits this is a social media behemoth you can only fleece the stupid for so long. Sooner or later they move on to something else.

I Tweeted about that today after I saw a reply from Elon to someone who was just putting the puzzle pieces in order.

No. Mainly because it's not like those who are saying they're leaving are deactivating their accounts. And any decrease in posts by those users just gets filled by bots or RWNJ posts.

Is there hard evidence that people are actually leaving Twitter, though?

No not leaving but they aren't as engaged and no one is paying for it. And if you look at the quality of the ads it has fallen off a cliff.

That is why the value is crashing. Same amount of users but no more money and a worse overall platform.

So....... Elmo is giving back blue check marks randomly. Daniel Dale (CNN reporter, fact checker) had his return, @Dril fought to have the free one given to him removed (and it was returned, and removed again). Christy Tiegan also fought to have her free blue check removed. Stephen King was also assigned one when he said no.

No one can figure out if it's a certain number of top followed people or what the threshold is for the blue check to return.

Also, the free check isn't indistinguishable from the paid check; everything says they're a paid subscriber to Twitter Blue.

If he's giving them out to the top influencers to sucker others into buying Blue, that feels illegal...
