How does anyone need seven bathrooms in a house?

One to go to the bathroom up on waking.
Another to take a shower.
A third in case one has to have a bowel movement after the shower.
A fourth for midday.
A fifth to wash up for supper.
A sixth for after supper.
A seventh to brush teeth etc before bed.

Sure, a normal person would do all those things in a single bathroom, but that's because you're poor and can't afford the luxury

Like I said, generations. My grandfather would never have believed football and baseball would be where they are today.

Football is a perfect tv sport (and gambling) that is why it will never go anywhere. Baseball is better in person but the league has sabotaged its game and done more to alienate the hard-core fans than can be undone.

The NFL survives lockouts, strikes and massive amounts of criminals because the fans don't care. The amount of child hitting, women attacking sexual predators that getting standing ovations tells you all you need to know.

If something comes around that is just as much fun to watch on TV you may be right. But nothing that exists right now will come anywhere close.

Nothing says it's harmless like telling people to stay 15' away from it.

The patriarch is besties with Modi. Tots and pears.

This could get really ugly for India as a whole. Sounds like there are a shit ton of Indians (among those who can afford it) who are going to be holding the bag here. Generational wealth wiped out.

The response on social media from Indian posters has been nothing short of draped in the flag. Lot of really ugly nationalism.

I have no data but my guess is movie theater audiences are now extraordinarily young, which helps explain why movies are less and less mature.

Also remains to be seen- do they just discount front row seats? Or leave those as todays base price and charge more for the non crappy seats?

this won’t help get more people in.

they gonna pay ushers to enforce seating too? Hahaha

Sounds like the best seats (roughly in the middle areas of the theaters) will have the upcharge. The front row(s) will actually cost less than a standard ticket (which will be everything else that is not front rows or middle). Also says it will only be for showings after 4 pm for now.

I think that has more to do with much more of the overall box office take now coming from foreign markets versus domestic, versus what the proportions were even twenty years ago. Subtler comedies and dramas that rely more heavily on American/Western cultural knowledge/experience don't translate as well to, say, China, but action movies with explosions sure do.

Maybe, and to be honest that's a very good argument I hadn't thought of, but this has happened before.

If history is a guide, there will be a reaction against the MCU / Star Wars fluff in the 2030s with a swing back to realism. Not the melodrama posturing of Sin City or Batman, but the real thing.

Epic Escapism alternates with Intimate Realism in movie history like player's coach / disciplinarian.

Meh...

Seeing a major franchise movie opening night has become an experience. I'm fine getting charged for that. There is a reason I pay double to go on Thursday night vs 10-11am on Friday.

Now what AMC needs to do is start cracking down on their cancellation policy. Currently you can basically reserve a block of 10 tickets and then dump them shortly before showtime for a full refund. That's something you see with these big premiers. People buy a bunch of tickets THEN ask their friends who wants to go.
