If only we taxed childless, high-income earners at a marginal average of 40% and corporations at 35% (with no credits/loopholes) we might be able to afford some of that Euro-socialism...

The number one thing we are learning about our society and government right now is it is all based on the next paycheck. If we don't learn to stock for emergencies, save for a rainy day, and plan ahead for the next disaster we are doomed as a nation and as a species.

I don't know if I should be worried, but I'm getting recruiting emails every day from defense contractors now. This started a week or two ago. Is Trump gearing up for WWIII to take our mind off the pandemic?

Society plays a big part. We don't save enough (I'm guilty as charged, btw). We don't count on rainy days. Dunno where that message got lost, but it did.

And then it takes ONE thing to happen for your savings to be wiped out. On July 1, 2019, I had close to $4,000 in savings. Then when I had surgery on my right foot, I watched my savings disappear.

No argument here.

Because it's not socialism when you give corporations billions in handouts. F##K you Larry.

Of all people Carly Fiorina blasts the corporate bailout plan

Re: Business, Economic, and Tax Policy 9: No, No, No, We Compost The Rich

Angry it wasn't more?

No, in what continues to surprise, she says corporate bailouts are wasted money. Much like the Gaetz tweet a few days ago I had to read this stuff a few times
