S&P isn’t even slow and steady. There aren’t many firms that can beat it in total returns.

Futures just stopped at 5% down. Guess we all pony up and see what happens tomorrow.

I should have stayed in Mexico...

I definitely was too optimistic when I said 14k was my guess where the Dow bottoms out. Unless something is done we could be looking at under 10k a month from now. Apple might not have to spend very much to buy Disney and completely ruin the world.

geezer,

Yeah find some low risk mutual fund and go to town. It wont do much for you now but if you buy when the market is crashing you will get it cheaper than normal and in 5 years most likely you will be dancing over how you scored. Since my 401k already is in the low risk funds and I have 2 in my Ameritrade account I might take a chance on a few things myself. I have my eye on a few mutual funds that have been suggested to buy during a Bear Market and I wont lie, watching Disney drop and with rumors of the buyout swirling it is worth looking at. (though not likely for me)

If you don't know what "leveraged" means or the far scarier, "3x leveraged", assume they mean "You will lose everything"

It seems to me the only three people on the planet who would invest in that instrument would be the President, the Fed Chair, or MBS, who could each tank the economy by themselves.

How the f-ck can this do 23M in volume? Srsly? Is it just crook brokers burning their clients for the commissions?

It’s for the investors who have an already established portfolio, and this product should be seen as play money on the side. It’s for speculation.

They could use that money to help people. The ironic thing is studies show that would make them happier, too.

They also have 3x positive.

Mookie bought the 3x financial sectors positives after the 2008 crash. ;)

The market has just "erased" Donald Trump.

Isnt that pretty much the profit curve of one of his businesses. He pumps them up and they crash. Trump is basically a chop shop selling junk bonds.

How is that possible? The tax cut was supposed to give us 6% GDP.
