BU Recruiting Update--Part 5

According to a PuckPreps writer:
"5-star forwards Carter Meyer and Finn Sears are the top two ranked ('09) players in MA. When I spoke with them both last month, they had just finished their freshman year but are advancing their studies this summer with the hope of reaching junior status by the start of the 25-26 season. 4-star forward Sam Pandolfo is doing the same."

They cannot commit until they reach junior status, so it's unlikely that happens before the Aug. 1 window for '09s to commit. All three on the next season's NTDP U17s.
You all probably know this, but just sharing something from NEHJ. They do seem to imply Meyer will head to BU, but say BC has made a run on Sears.

Does this mean tales of our recruiting demise have been greatly exaggerated or is that yet to manifest?
PuckPreps ranked BU's 2025 class #2 behind only Michigan. The 2026 class--with 3 projected first-round picks--could be even better. So, "greatly exaggerated" nails it.

Freddy Meyer’s son is coming to BU. Can’t wait for more years of #FreddyMeyerisahack take 2!
PuckPreps has Freddy Meyer V, arriving in 2027. Same arrival as expected for younger brother Carter, one of the top US-born 2009s, who is accelerating to become a HS junior.

Now we've got two Meyer kids in the pipeline. Carter Meyer, NeutralZone''s #1 rated U.S. born 2009 and #7 in North America, committed today. A 6'0" LC, he'll be an offense driver for the USNTDP the next two seasons. Since April, BU has committed four 5-star forwards: Wassilyn, Glance, Scantlebury and Meyer.

BU’s recruiting cycle, thus far: 5-star James Scantlebury, 5-star Carter Meyer, 4-star Sam Pandolfo, NR: Freddy Meyer
August is Joe Pereira time.

Freddy Meyer makes the Québec Remparts out of camp as a free agent invite. The Remparts made Carter the highest drafted American in the QMJHL draft this year but were unable to lure him from NTDP. They extended an invite to Freddy as well but hadn’t expected him to be so good at camp he forced his way onto the roster.

Remparts GM Simon Gagné played with his dad with the Flyers which helped make the relationship here smooth. If Carter needs a change of scenery, they will be happy to oblige.

Meyer is one of three in the BU pipeline who'll be playing in the Q thhis season. Yegor Shilov left the USHL to play for Victoriaville and Rian Chudzinski will be at Moncton.
Rumors that 5-star Braidy Wassilyn would accelerate to arrive this year have been put to rest. He's back with Niagara.

Chudzinski and Shilov both impressed significantly in their respective camps. Shilov tied for 1st in preseeason scoring with 7, great chemistry with UConn commit Alexei Vlasov.

Wassilyn staying in Niagara is a great sign for that franchise, who have been a laughing stock and hot mess for a few seasons, multiple scandals etc. The OHL commissioner took control of the franchise this summer and is forcing competence down their throats and it appears to be working. I'm guessing if there wasn't a significant overhaul in how things worked with the IceDogs, he would've accelerated. Smart of Bryan Crawford to take charge. Wassilyn could use another year of juniors to pop.
