BU Recruiting Update, Part 4

Re: BU Recruiting Update, Part 4

Blixt is a 2018 recruit. He's also an older kid, turns 20 next month.

I saw his age after I made my post. Looks like we'll have eight next season unless Fabbro leaves early. He's good but certainly not dominant so I hope he stays.

Re: BU Recruiting Update, Part 4

Is Jake Wise expected back this season from his broken collarbone? It's been so long, I don't even recall if he has played a single game for the U18s. Is there any chance he decides/is asked to play a year in the USHL (if he isn't back on the ice soon)?

About two weeks ago, a source out in Michigan told me he was two weeks away from returning. So most likely his first game would be on Dec. 30 against North Dakota and first four games would all be against college teams, including Jan. 5 at BU. Same source said the U18s need him to assume a spot centering one of the top 2 lines. I believe all four BU recruited forwards on the U18s have signed their LOIs.

Also hearing that BU is looking at another possible forward to add to next year's class. Not sure how that might impact Matt Quercia (Sioux Falls) who is listed by Heisenberg as 2018 or 2019. I'd imagine BU will look for one more defenseman, too, with three senior Ds on the roster.

Hockeyprospect.com ranked 2020 recruits Dylan Peterson and Donovan Sbrango as the top two prospects in the Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO) Midget AAA league.

According to Heisenberg Luke Tuch headed to BU
Assume related to Alex Tuch

Yes, 6'1, 180 LW is Alex's younger brother. Plays for Buffalo Jr. Sabres 16U. BU's first 2021 recruit, according to Heisenberg.

Correction. Luke Tuch is a 2020 recruit. Heisenberg and College Hockey Inc. have updated their listings. Tuch joins a sizeable and talented class that includes Dylan Peterson, Josh Lawrence, Braden Doyle, Cade Webber, Donovan Sebrango and goalie Drew Commesso.

First '03 recruit, Portledge School freshman/Long Island Gulls 14U/16U left wing Jeremy Wilmer.

BU just received commitment from ‘03 Jeremy Wilmer. Small forward has elite hockey sense, can skate and has good skill set. All 4 Beanpot schools had interest.

Priority Selection @PrioritySelect 1h1 hour ago
Jeremy Wilmer commits to Boston University, as the Terriers land one of the most impactful forwards in the ‘03 crop.

Re: BU Recruiting Update, Part 4

Would we even have a scholly for Ollie Wallie if he doesn't get into Harvard? I've heard he comes with highly engaged parents....

But it would mean 5 USNDTP forwards in one recruiting class, which must be a record.

What's the inspiration for this comment?

Re: BU Recruiting Update, Part 4

Based on my understanding, that's a diplomatic way of describing it...

Yes, I was trying to be nice, since I don't have any 100% credible facts...but have heard the rumors.

FWIW (and for all I know he could still go to Harvard), when he committed to Harvard shortly after decommitting from his home-state Black Bears, I thought "how can somebody to commit to a school as hard to get into as Harvard when they have barely started high school and have no way to show that they are at that level of academic ability".
