Re: BU Recruiting Update, Part 3
Ty Amonte, who is a ’98, and younger brother, Tristan, play for Tony’s Thayer Academy team. He was a junior this season. Both of them also play for the Cape Cod Whalers 16Us (also coached by Tony) who were in USA Hockey’s Tier 1 nationals this weekend. CC didn’t fare too well. Ty led the scoring with 1+1. I haven’t seen anything connecting him to BU at this point and he was not included in OverTheBoards’ Oct. 2014 Select 70 list of uncommitted.
As far as recruiting prospects who are sons of former Terriers, Matthew Tkachuk (who decommitted from Notre Dame) and Chad Krys are at the top of the list. Both play for the NTDP U18s,with Krys a recent call-up from the U17s. Tkachuk would be for next season and Krys for 2016 if they commit. Also on BU’s radar is ’99 Brady Tkachuk (#11 on the OTB list), who was at NTDP Evaluation camp last week along with David Farrance (a slam-dunk to make the U17s) and Logan Cockerill. Farrance also played in the Tier 1 16U nationals, leading his team with three goals in four games.
