BU Hockey '24-'25: Reloaded for another Frozen Four run

Anyone know why Pando didn’t shake hands post game?

Poor sportsmanship.

Same reason he was chasing official in between periods.

With an example like that one would wonder what effect it has on his players.

Oh wait, his team leads the country in penalty minutes.

Exactly- remember the Maine celebrations at Walter Brown in the early 90’s? I was there. Every win at BU was celebrated like it was the national championship for crying out loud! Taunting of fans/students was a regular occurrence. Hey, it’s a big historical rivalry and it’s heating up again (sort of). Maine definitely has a much improved team in the last couple of years, but the Friday win was only Maine’s 2nd in 12 games against BU and the tying goal and resulting scoreless overtime prevented Maine from securing their first 2 game sweep at Alfond since 1997. It would have been fairly significant if Maine secured the 2 regulation wins, but they didn’t. It was tied in the closing seconds which hurts quite a bit and BU got the important extra point in the shootout. It’s college hockey and over-celebrating (especially towards the student sections) is part of it in rivalry games.

Are there any videos of this anywhere I love this type of old school stuff.

Favorite Maine memory: I went up to Orono in 1993 when we pinned the one loss on them. I had on a BU sweatshirt and I'd like to think that I was cheering politely. Between periods, a Maine fan who had to be in his 70's waddled up to me as I was waiting to buy a coke. I was expecting some good hockey talk, perhaps some friendly teasing. Instead, his face contorted and he barked "how did YOU get tickets?" I responded that I bought them back in Boston. He then said "there are MAINE people who should be in your seats." He then turned and walked away without a trace of kidding. Well, then, howdy stranger, welcome to Vacationland!

Ooooh! I was there for a game in the 90s sitting in the seats BU got for visiting fans in the last row that were under the balcony. During the game, a BU player got hurt at the other end of the ice. Couldn't see so I stood on bench to see what was happening during the stoppage in play and a Maine fan that was standing behind me grabbed my jacket and pushed me off the seat. Very welcoming indeed!

Times are definitely different I was at the garden last year because I bought both games regardless if Maine won. I was sitting between BU and BC fans as a "neutral" observer with my Maine jersey and have to say that was one of the most entertaining games I've been at.

Is it just me, or is the Agganis website down right now? Trying to forward some tickets but it looks like the website is expired or hijacked or something?

Coach Pandolfo indicated in his media call that Zetterberg is ready to go tonight and Svoboda very likely, too. Quinn Hutson remains out. Mathieu Caron gets the start in what will be his 100th NCAA game and 50th as a Terrier. Game Day post.

We’ll see what the end result is tonight, but boy, does this team look bad right now. I’m utterly shocked at how this year is playing out so far.

Great 3rd. This team is a mystery…Just don’t know what you’re going to get at any given time. Finally a Friday win though!

That was two periods of utter garbage and one that finally looked like it's supposed to.

I don't understand the strategy of passing the puck back into your own zone when there are still opposing players right there.

Oh well. Good to finish on the high note.

I was hoping that Matt Copponi would score tonight. Glad to see him score the two dagger goals. I should be more happy about a win.
