BU Hockey '24-'25: Reloaded for another Frozen Four run

What an embarrassment in a rink they should be comfortable in. But why should we be surprised based on the many nights they have had like this. Just a weak minded characterless team. Save for Legerov coming in and a couple of highlight goals from C Hutson and Eiserman this team would be even deader in the water. UConn is good (better than BU) but they were missing their best player and they still dog-walked them on a big stage. And will Jay cut the crap and quit pulling the goalie 3 goals down. You aren’t winning just take the loss and save some pride by not giving the opposition any more celebrations. Its a big fu to the team and fans

We all knew this team would be vulnerable in one and done tourneys due to the sheer inconsistency from game to game.

I'm here and expecting a similar result from my Huntington Hounds if it makes you feel any better. That said from my seats yeah they look like warm shit on cold ice.
I don’t expect that all they have much stronger character and heart then BU and NU losing to Maine can’t be compared to the #6 team in the country losing in this manner

Is McCarthy hurt?
Swear every odd man goal from right in front had #2 cruising into view as the red light turned bright🙄

Yea that is an important point. Honestly the first goal was a bad bounce for BU but as we know over on our side of Comm Ave, if you get clowned on faceoffs all of a sudden it's hard to get good bounces. BU was 42% on faceoffs. As has been noted, this is the "details" type of thing that gets you bounced in the postseason if you're on the wrong end of it. Gavin McCarthy -4 tonight. WOOF

As least you made it to the Garden.

CHN reran scenarios already and BU is 100% for the #7 seed overall so potentially headed to Michigan State's bracket in Toledo unless teams needed to be moved around.

As of right now we have a date with Denver in Toledo at Michigan State’s regional. That should be “fun”.

Was thinking the same thing.
After graduation, strong future as a traffic cone predicted for him.

Some of this team will be in the NHL 2 year from now.
Most of this team's names will be forgotten if you ask me about them 2 years from now.
Totally disappointing.

“That was a good old fashioned ass-kicking, that’s what that was. Out-battled to every puck, out-battled on the wall, out-battled in the slot…they wanted it a heck of a lot more than we did.”

I'm angrier this morning after watching that instant classic between NU and Maine last night. THAT was playoff hockey! My God. How many shots did NU block? 40? 50? 128? They sold out for that win. On a ten point scale ranking effort, NU gets an 11 and Maine gets a 10. BU? A 1.5.

Why should we believe in this team next weekend? I'll watch. I'll hope. But they haven't exactly earned our trust have they?

I'll leave with this. There was a play in the first period that perfectly encapsulated their mental mindset yesterday. Gavin's got the puck all alone in his own end. The neutral zone is clogged so he doesn't have a forward to pass to. He doesn't want to skate it out of the zone (for reasons I can't explain. Fear of having the puck taken away if a Husky charges at him?) so he half heartedly tries to get it across to Cole Hutson, but whiffs on the puck, UConn pounces on it and they create a cycle and a scoring chance. I mean.... Move. Your. Feet! Attack! Work! Want!

Boumedienne had a chance to clear a puck in front of his goalie and fanned on it which gift wrapped a goal for UConn to get them started. Had a bad penalty too. Thought he had a bad game compared to other games I watched him play.

I watched the NU Maine game with a Maine friend and dang that was seat of the pants madness. 61 shots on goal to get just 4 past Whitehead. Before the first 3 min of the second OT, Maine had peppered 5 shots in despite being tired on their legs and Whitehead stopped all 5.

THAT'S how a team that wants to win plays. Yes UConn's forechecking was good but the guys seemed to be trying around for a 'perfect shot' rather than shooting a 'good shot' half the night. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Pandolfo should make the team watch a tape of that game and see how a team like NU with heart and courage plays, and Maine as well . Granted it was a desperation game for NU but I guess pride and the chance to play for a HE title and #1 seed wasn’t motivation enough for these future NHLers like a sophomore captain with 11 whole goals. I’m turning into a big NU fan with the way they played in this postseason after watching the BU divas playing this year
