BU Hockey '24-'25: Reloaded for another Frozen Four run

A few cool stories in the land of BU hockey alums in the NHL
- Charlie McAvoy has already scored two goals!
- Macklin's first NHL goal
- The entire team in attendance at the Boston Garden yesterday to see Lane play the Bruins.

#ProudToBU

Colby Cohen: "Celebrini’s awareness of where other guys are on the ice is just remarkable. Hockey IQ doesn’t get much higher. He’s fun to watch."

Last Terrier to score in his first NHL game was Wade Megan in 2016-17.

Celebrini highlights, Pandolfo Media Call and more on the blog on today's updated blog post.

Great win tonight! I’m really excited by this team early. They play hard and fast for the entire game. That’s half the battle early in the season. They are only going to get better as they get used to playing with the forward line and defensive pairing combinations. There will probably be some tweaks as the season goes on, but these combos are already pretty good from what I see.

Was Zetterberg supposed to be this dynamic? I don’t think Union had their legs but still the speed and playmaking last night was impressive. I think Cole Hutson is going to be Lane with less stress waiting for the turnover.

Yes. Pandolfo post-game: "We knew what kind of player we were getting.
Tonight, he was excellent. He’s just a really smart player. He makes the right plays at the right time. He’s two steps ahead of his opponents because he's smart. He’s a competitive kid... I thought he was arguably our best forward tonight."

He'll make the second power-play unit much more of a threat.

As always it’ll come down to the bc weekend to let us know…

The goalie was the only one ready to play when the puck dropped. (17 1st period shots for the artist formerly known as The Dutchman). But skill goals lit the lamp and they took care of business.

Kaplan needs to sit a game. He’s good for two hot head dumb penalties a game.

The goalie/sieve sign is back. Thank God. :)

Yes, it is a bit soft, but I like it. Starting the season earlier and earlier and without exhibitions, the team can ease into what is going to be a tough run coming up with pairs at NoDak (Scary!) and at home with Michigan. Also 2 games at Maine this semester against what is a much improved program lately. Those will be real early tests for this team and I’m looking forward to them for sure. Remember the days of Midnight Madness first practice, an exhibition or 2 and first games around Halloween? How times have changed.

Saturday's game against Harvard is an exhibition game, and will not count. The Ivy League starts after everyone else.

Union also wore white at their game against Stonehill the night before - so maybe a delay on their road uniforms?

That's what I'm thinking. They did change their name. Maybe their full uniform sets aren't ready.

I think most times when a team wears their roads at home, it is because of some issue with the visiting team. Unless it is some sort of special occasion.

Watching on NESN… is the light show after a goal new for this game? I didn’t notice it the past couple of ESPN+ and do t remember it from last year?

New for this season. They have done it at every game, but the timing of their effects / horn hasn't been the greatest, hopefully gets better as the season goes on.

Saw Fenway does the same with hr when mookie got back. Then that every team does it watching playoffs. Guess hockey decided to copy it up like baseball.
glad American football doesn’t have to stoop to this silliness
maybe next year with extra points :p
