^ I'm sure BU is almost as disappointed about it as I am.
But seriously, I hope BU fans brave enough to come to the Mullins Center are miserable because of the result of the game, not the actions of the home crowd.
I'm surprised to hear that the old people were jerks to a poster above. The only problem I ever had with older folks is when a bunch of them decided to sit in the student section senior night of my senior year and wanted us to all sit down so they could see the game
. Usually, they're the ones complaining about the students.
Whoever said suggested sitting in the reserve section was correct. I doubt you'll face problems there. Unlike Agganis, the Mullins Center usually isn't worried about making you sit in your assigned seat. If you buy a cheaper general admissions ticket and sit in the reserved section, odds are pretty good no one will ever know.
If, on the other hand, you sit in the general admissions section, especially by the students, odds are good something will happen. I'm not proud of it, but those are the facts. The worst I've ever seen was students screaming profanities at visiting fans (something that's happened to me in every rink I've been to besides Volpe and Tsongas).
Just some advice for parents who might not know: Mullins Center probably isn't the best place to bring your kids (for hockey anyway... in my limited experience basketball fans are fine) if you don't want them hearing vulgar language. Think BU before BU stopped organized swearing. They have designated family sections, but with 5000 students chanting in unison you can hear it all around the rink.
