Be careful what you wish for. RIT's goalie Scarfone is one of the 10 finalists for the Richter award. We all know that excellent goaltenders can steal playoff games. RIT is likely to end up in PWR right about where Northeastern will fall. They are 25th now and could rise to about 20th if they win out which is likely since Atlantic Hockey plays all playoff games on campus.

All the goalies will be a challenge to some degree when you gent to the tournament. For RIT’s Hockey East games 1-2 ( split vs UNH and loss vs Maine), a 4.00 GAA 0.886 SV%. Not great, but I understand what you’re saying. Like I said, have to have the max effort put out against anyone you are playing, or you will lose. Not really wishing for anything but playing East. There are certainly harder first round opponents though.

Latest bracketology on USCHO looks about as good as it gets. BU-RIT and Maine-WMU Without UMass in the picture, it’s a clear path to Springfield with RIT in the first round with the winner facing a Maine-Western Michigan winner. I know there’s a bit to go, but I like this one with some of the other possibilities that might pop up. Negatives - first game may lack motivation. we beat Western last year - they will want us bad. I don’t like facing conference rivals in the tournament, but it may not be able to be avoided this year (0-1 vs Maine all time in Regionals, but we did have that big win once upon a time at the next level) Debate

Wow. That would have EVERYONE up in arms for what an easy path BU would have to the Frozen Four.

Lots of hockey left, so not going to worry about brackets yet, but ...

BU’s block of tickets at UConn are in the side of the arena where BU shoots once. And are benches. And literally next to the student section. Ridiculous.

And on the one before that along the boards he went right at his knees. You could see the knee almost buckle backwards (despite the whining of the UConn announcers).

That’s the one I was talking about. They just keep going for him it seems.

and UConn announcers are absurd. “I don’t think that warrants a 5 min major…”

They're so absurd.

I eman the officials are about to start tossing people i think. UConns coach is like "eh so what"

Wild game. Thought 71 might have his first hat trick and a record point night, but no. Game got very disjointed after the Celebrini hit. Great to walk out of there with a solid win after a slow start and seemingly without injury!

Any comments on UConn's new - tiny - hockey arena from those that went?
And why would Hockey East have waived its requirement that new buildings should have a minimum of 4000 seats?

I didn't go to the game but toured the arena a few weeks ago (son #1 is a senior there). Very open air/"no luxury boxes blocking the view from the concourse anywhere" feel to it like the Whit. Bright, with sunlight coming in one side. Looks very modern. I like the way they have the banners for the other teams. The platform/wall/whatever at one end is odd. Seems to eliminate a few rows of possible seats. It is very hard for students to get tickets - very frustrating for my son, though the way they have been playing there, probably better he not go :-).

UConn's Chase Bradley, hit with a game misconduct for his two-handed slash of Zabaneh, has been suspended for tonight's game by Hockey East.

A lot of season ticket holders were locked out because of the capacity. It was much better at XL center in Hartford. There were a lot of complaints and if you do want to go and get a ticket, you have to pay TM a lot more for the few tickets available in random areas and not to mention the fees. Some seats behind the net and to the side, it's really narrow and you can easily fall in the seats in front of you because of the narrow floor space in front of your seats. Talk about skipping corners and skipping on expenses for a 2500 seat rink. I would take the XL any day and there's restaurants & bars outside the XL for fans.

Remember Jimmy Howard ? Stoned us even though BC badly outshot Maine in 2004.
