IMHO, The only reason to bring in Lacroix midseason, burn a year of eligibility and not play him, would be that they don’t have faith in the current backups if Caron were to get injured.
Other than Lacroix, the other goalies are all Grad students or seniors, so maybe they wanted to give him a chance to get acclimated before next season? Is there another goalie recruit coming next year or are they grabbing one off the transfer portal?

My understanding is that Chambre got hurt and the BU staff wanted him to get a year of playing time under his belt before coming in.

Looks like the Vermont defense and goaltending has been fairly solid statistically- very similar to ours. Their offense looks like their issue - about a goal a game less than ours, but still about +0.5 on goals scored-goals allowed. Decent penalty kill at 0.844. I’m thinking it will be a fairly competitive series.
Another W up in Burlington! Incredible run. Gotta like 5-1 wins. However, that beginning of the 2nd period was brutal. Very disorganized in our own zone, but Caron was great again. Not sure exactly why these extended breakdowns are happening, but I think we better get that fixed before we go up against BC - they have more than a few guys that can really put the puck in the net. Would love to see a 60 minute defensive masterpiece tomorrow night.
Agreed on Quinn. During that dry spell he had numerous shots hit iron. Despite the lopsided score, Pandolfo clearly wasn't satisfied with the overall effort and I'd imagine the team will be hearing from him about consistency, turnovers, being hard on pucks.

Couldn’t make the trip to Vermont this weekend so I signed up for ESPN+. Figured there may be one more game that I might not get to due to weather. Anyway, I just logged into my TV to confirm my sign up worked and ESPN has Dartmouth’s logo instead of Vermont’s. Insert rolling eyes emoji here. How does something like that happen? I know they’re both green, but Vermont and Dartmouth have no similarities in their names.
Hanover is really, really close to Vermont.
There is a Dartmouth game at the same time and both Dartmouth logos were right next to each other on my screen.

Yes, we’ll be the #1 going into BC, but they will probably be #2. Pressure on both sides for sure. I will be in attendance at both games. My first trip to Boston since Feb 2020 at the first round Beanpot game where we won in OT, but didn’t. Can’t wait to see some live hockey again! I would imagine the first time facing each other as 1 vs 2.

I thought they had faced each other as #1 and #2 once before (in the polling era) but now I can’t find it. Thought it was sometine 2004-2006, and of course played each other in the ‘78 National Championship game,

They did not, I've look at all the national polls available online. In 1978 the last poll was before the conference tournament and Denver was #1, BU was #2

Any of you at the Garden tonight? Only seen the lower bowl so far but attendance looks pretty good.
I have long thought the women's title game should be before the men's title game and the consolation game can be played on campus but regardless, nice to see this game at the Garden tonight.

Box score attendance is listed as 10,633. If that continues I’d think there is no need to pair it with the mens game - especially as it could fracture attendance if different schools were in each champ game. Great for the ladies!
Given my low tolerance for $50 parking, $10 hot dogs and $18 cup of Molson, I’m actually less likely to attend at the Garden, but I’m still happy they were able to have that experience.
