Was reading up on the NHL development camps is commesso had mono last season and lost a
ton of weight. Crazy but explains that Bc game. Celebrini looking like clear top pick in nhl
draft - can’t wait to see the kid in person. BU is back.

Any insight/theories on why BU's schedule is always the last to drop? Seems odd that the season is 3 months away and we don't have a schedule yet.

The 10-game OOC schedule is almost complete. Quinnipiac will visit Agganis the evening before Thanksgiving, followed on Saturday by Red Hot Hockey at MSG. https://twitter.com/BUHockeyStats/status/1677019788218884118?s=20

Looks like a good schedule. I like the pre thanksgiving games. Interesting they have moved from Tuesday to Wednesday. I’m guessing no WBA game this year - maybe that becomes an every few years type of thing.

Great schedule this year. BC should be much improved. We look to have at least stayed the course or possibly gotten better (depends on the goaltending of course). We should be a force to be reckoned with. Can’t wait for the season to start!

Tristan Amonte apparently is returning after having entered the portal. His name is on the BU site's 2023-24 roster showing 14 returnees. With four transfers coming (3 goalies, Hughes) and 8 or 9 freshmen, the roster should have either 26 or 27. So, nearly 50% turnover.

Key items on the schedule to discuss:
- First home game - that counts - not until October 27 : (
- Fired up for North Dakota at Agganis
- The defending National Champions on the Wed before Thanksgiving followed by Red Hot Hockey is a tough week.
- At Yale! (Cool building. I highly recommend a visit if you can.)
- Jan 5 exhibition. Dumb.
- Double weekend at UVM - again... (Shouldn't this alternate?)
- BC Home & Home so close to the Beanpot and BC in the first round.
- Extra PC game so close to the home & home weekend. Bleh.
- Closing at home vs. UVM. Could be a needed W.

The 12/29 Yale game and 1/5 Simon Fraser exhibition are the only games scheduled during the WJCs when BU is likely to be without Lane Hutson, Devin Kaplan, Macklin Celebrini and Tom Willander. Good planning.

Oct. 14 U18 exhibition: A Hutson hat trick--Lane & Quinn vs. Cole.

Yep, I understand the challenges of playing games around World Juniors (BC if off for a month) However, why even play an exhibition game? Imagine if someone got hurt playing this game? *Rage!*

Then why allow your top players to play in the WJCs where they might be injured? It happened to Patrick Harper.

I guessing the coaches feel the benefit of a competitive test prior to beginning the second half schedule outweighs the potential risk of injury. Exhibitions during the break have been scheduled numerous times, often with the NTDP U18s and once with the US Jr. National Team. In 19-20, BU had exhibitions with Concordia (12/29) and the U18s 1/3.

As to the exhibitions - I agree the coaches must find some value to them or they wouldn’t happen.

I enjoy the Canadian teams as the opening of the season - not quite as much over the winter break. The U18 game I’ve never been a big fan of.

Presumably the U18 game is good for recruiting.

This is a huge reason they continue the game. I also think it's a great opportunity for our guys to play an exhibition against a highly skilled squad. The U18s are better than a lot of collegiate competition and certainly better than the Canadian schools. There's a lot of benefit to playing that game each year.

Right - there are reasons to have it, I’ve just never found it interesting as a fan.
