That's not what your post said. You wrote he left because he felt he'd put up better numbers behind a better and more structured defense.

To my knowledge, there is zero truth to that.

Your post made no mention of playing time. Those are two very different things.

I stand by my sources. He left because of many factors - and the ones I stated where absolutely part of the equation.

I could see Vinny leaving for better defensive structure, maybe better NIL, but playing time seems like an odd reason because who would have beaten him out? If Vinny stayed, would we have gone after Caron?

I’m not sure what the film looked like on Caron, or if they personally scouted him, but I think most agree that Vinny is a more poised goaltender when a comparison of the two is made. From what I’ve seen, I take Vinny as the #1.

Agreed. That's why I am not convinced his departure was PT related.

Residual soreness from last week, held out only for a bit of extra rest. Pandolfo said after the game he will most likely play tomorrow.

Good win last night. Not great win. But I’ll take it. I hear it was BU’s first win there since 2018. Hoping it continues tonight.

Big two points. Hockey East is tough this year, with BC, Maine, PC, and UNH all seeming that they could be NCAA teams. To find a way to beat UML on the road is a great sign.

I was ready to strangle Quinn Hutson when he did the one thing that could hurt us on the PP with a 2 goal lead late - cough up the puck to given them a SH breakaway. Thankfully Caron stepped up.

Tuch is having his best year. Montreal fans no doubt loved the Tuch to L. Hutson connection on the third goal. :-)

I thought the calls against A. Celebrini and Wilander in the second period were both terrible. I'll have to watch the replay this morning to see if I was right.

Happy with the W. Lowell is always tough and good to see the team grind out a win without their top goal scorer. Now don't crap out at home tonight please.

Lowell doesn't get a lot of high end talent, but they are very well coached, play hard and are always a tough out. Their style is boring, yet effective.

They're not shooting blanks tonight. Jumping out fast. They need to play the full sheet the full clock though

Nice win. Was really hoping to see Caron get the shutout, he played really well all weekend. Everyone played well. They needed that sweep ahead of Maine next weekend.

#71 is special. Fun night of hockey.

Why was Jay yelling at the ref after the game? I saw something on Twitter about head hits to Macklin not being called? Is there a particular incident that I missed?

Maine week. I'd love to hear stories from the hey-day of this rivalry from my fellow old-timers. In the 90's the two best teams in Hockey East were Maine and BU. And Shawn Walsh was the perfect villain.

BU Hockey: Old Home Week

I think I noticed that Celebrini was not on ice for first power play
That happened shortly after BU lost challenge for a major penalty on Lowell
Assume both related to head hit on Celebrini

Nice to see Hughes get one- limited production from him so far but was injured

Good test next weekend- Long hiding Maine fans probably going to be present again

Plenty of stories, Jackie going nuts and chucking anything he could find on Alfond ice. Jack and Shawn sitting in the stands not allowed on the bench , can’t remember why though but the league did it. BU asst coach trying to climb over the glass behind bench in Alfond trying to fight with fans. BU runway covered with tarps so Maine fans couldn’t get to them on and off the ice. The night Maine lost to BU I remember Jack sweeping the runway, I thought it was weird but it was him calming his nerves I think anyway. Brother and sister of one of the BU players holding up a sign the next night after that loss, the sign had the zero crossed out and a one put in the loss column. The brother was waving that around all night, finally a Maine fan took it from him and tore it up. I know several people who had windows broken in parking lot near wba, flat tires etc. Standing at Alfond, on rail, south end. Puck came off goalies stick, hit structural post under sky boxes and then my wife in the head. She was ok but I told we couldn’t leave as it was BU.

No hockey will ever be as good as that if you ask me or any long time Maine fan. Hatred might not be a strong enough word

I thought it was a dominating effort. Any game these days where you can beat a UMass Lowell team 6-1 is quite incredible. We do have that goalie’s number though. I think they were saying we put 5 up against this guy twice last year when he was at UMass. I’m surprised they started him.

The team looked really in sync. Starting to know who they are and how to operate from the defensive zone on out. Things are moving in the right direction.

With Maine playing well, it should be a heck of a series next weekend. I’m glad it’s at home. I watched the OT last night vs BC. Orono sounded like it will be a very tough place to play again with the team they have.

If M. Celebrini can remain healthy and not have his head knocked around all season, he will have a great chance at leading the NCAA in scoring. We probably have the best forward and offensive defenseman in all of college hockey. That is some combination. These guys may end up duking it out all season for the Hobey!
