Solid win when they could have doubted themselves after giving up the early goal. Love the play of the "big guys": Tuch, Peterson, Kaplan, Lachance, Grimes, and Stevens. And a strong night for Caron and Wilmer.

How was the crowd last night? And it sounds like Caron played well. That's the best news of all.

I thought the crowd was great. The student section was loud. It wasn’t sold out but it was a decent sized crowd. I was worried when UMass scored so early. They also seemed to be controlling the play for the first half of the third. I’m glad that early goal didn’t seem to rattle them. It was a good win. Not a great win. But I’ll definitely take it. Hoping for a similar outcome tonight in Amherst. Anyone making the trek?

Decent crowd - box score lists 5172.. scanning the stands appx 80% full seems about right. As usual UMass had a decent presence.

I missed the first UMass goal but felt BU played well all around. Good on the special teams and good energy. Caron did play well. If we play like that every night we will be a difficult team to beat.

Stopped in at Sunset post game - wow it’s a different vibe in there now. They seemed to be going for the “nightclub” scene vs “sports bar” look. From what I could tell, very few people were there for post game. At least half the tables were empty and I dont think i saw one other BU hockey Jersey. Sad that T’s Pub is gone. Where are the BU faithful gathering pre and post game now?

have not been inside to see the boys since maybe 2016?!?

Very sad that T’s is gone. Will have to hit up T Anthony’s before. Then figure out the postgame

When you're there, pay no mind that T Anthony's is under new ownership and also looks a tad different. Not to the extent that Sunset does though.

I agree that it was a very solid game overall and if we play that way we will most likely win most games. Zabaneh and Peterson look great together. M. Celebrini is a master with his hands. The backhand flick on his goal was a thing of beauty. Good to see when they didn’t score first that they turned up the heat and got it going. Lots of good things last night. Caron did make some tremendous stops. His rebound control and ability to corral the puck still needs some work. I hope he settles in with the pressure of wearing Boston on the front of his jersey and not Brown. We really need him.

not that it applies to pre game but I think I saw t Anthony’s does not open until 11:00 AM? No more breakfast?

Used to enjoy breakfast there long long time ago.
will be staying downtown anyhow and Tatte is where mookie enjoys breakfast nowadays when visiting. Tatte is awesome. :^)

Looking forward to seeing Celebrini with a little more lateral room on the wider ice surface at UMass.

Certainly didn’t play as well as the first game. Even though 3 got through, I thought that was the best game Caron played. We could have easily lost that one by several goals. Celebrini - what can you say? He should score 40 if he stays healthy. I though they were too careful and deliberate in the OT. You just have to go for it with some rushes. Not a bad result considering the night they had overall. UMass is much improved this year and will compete with everyone. I like 5 out of 6 points in the standings against this team.

UMass's Jack Musa, who is second in HE scoring behind M.Celebrini, was originally a BU commit.

Caron stole some points in Amherst. Feeling a lot better about the goaltending.

Umass controlled the play the way we did Friday night. The difference is we got better goaltending when we weren't controlling play. And we have higher skill overall. Lane looked very tired at times during the game. We got lucky a couple times when we were stuck out there, including when Gallagher drew the boarding penalty.

Huge confidence boost for Caron to stop all three shooters in the shootout.

The last time North Dakota beat BU in Boston was March 16, 1990, in the first of a best of three NCAA hockey match up. Former UND head coach Dave Hakstol, and current UND assistant coach Dane Jackson, were freshmen on that team.

Wasn't that the series when there was fight during opening warmups? And also when the North Dakota goalie got a penalty and had to actually sit in the penalty box?
