dude!!!! why are you trying to give scarlet a heart attack?!!?!?!

I KNOW!!!! And obviously the vastly preferred position is #1 but I'm trying to prepare for the worst. Have these people just met me?? And about 10 minutes ago I got an updated meeting invite for our bi-monthly full team meeting moved from Monday, March 20 to Friday, March 24. Which I already booked as being out of the office as I'm hoping to either be in person or at the very least watching an NCAA tournament game. Will I be? Like, what happens if they get swept and lose their quarterfinal game and don't even get to the Garden? I'm not going to accept or decline till after the quarterfinal game. Gah! I hate when work responsibilities and NCAA hockey playoffs collide.

On a similar note, I saw the email about ordering playoff tickets. In that email were links to purchase HE tournament and NCAA tournament tickets. Are they no longer offering tickets to STHs? Going to have to ask that on Friday night.

I agree with Scarlet’s concerns. BC is a bad matchup for a top seed in quarters. They have outplayed BU for the majority of the periods in their matchups imo. Plus they have a strong PP. That said if you can avoid NU/MC in semis yes that’s preferred.

No heart attacks intended!! That said, the standings, as of tonight pair BC and UNH. UNH has been playing very good hockey after a horrid stretch opening the season. They dropped their two games to BC in that stretch. And they've beaten some tough teams in the second half of the season. BC still has to get past them to go to the quarters. And UMass and even Vermont are capable of upsets. It isn't a foregone conclusion that BC will be the lowest seed after the opening round. I stand by my stated preference for the #1 seed

Well looks like first place is out of the picture. JFC. Senior night. Sure let’s give up two goals in the first four minutes.

Oh my - are you kidding me? Not that they can’t come back, but really? 2-0 out the gate? Commesso is a good goalie, but I just get the feeling sometimes his head is not in the game. The first one is absolutely unacceptable in a game where a league title is on the line. In fact it’s unacceptable for any D1 goalie on top teams at any time.

Way to right the ship (at least on the offense!). Wish we could have done that in a few of the games on the losing streak. Things falling into place for the regular season title and the #1 seed with us up 2 and NU down 2 in the 3rd!

Commesso should have been pulled after the second goal. Both were soft, as was one of the later ones (making the initial save and then leaving the goalpost wide open). He needs to know he can't play sloppy hockey and still start all the time. It was message time for him.

The win was gritty, and the officiating..., dismal.

Anyone know how to fix a goalie? Our goalie is broken. : ( Seriously, 3 of the 4 he gave up were wicked soft. I’m mean, woof.

And Skoog has a lot of Brad Marchand in him.

HE regular season champs. Weeee.

BU Hockey: Concerned.

I can’t see BU making a run with Commesso in goal snd the D turnovers. And the guy that makes me crazy is Peterson. Commesso concentration is very noticeably off for much of the season. The formula they got going now isn’t going to fly In tournament play. Inconsistent goalie, D turnovers, dumb penalties, subpar PP. Lane Hutson covers up a lot of problems

congratulations to the team on winning the league- gritty effort after being down 2 goals early

Two off ice nitpicks
1. Senior night ceremonies started at 6:50- no one told ticket holders that this was happening before 7 so stands were half empty

2. When the game ended there were 5 minutes left on NU game- was there some way to show or keep fans there?
Apparently when that game ended team came back on ice and accepted trophy- Would have been nice if more that a few fans saw it and could salute the team

They did send emails to all season ticket holders to arrive early for senior night.

I also stayed after the game ended and watched the end of the UML-NU game on our phones with friends - no one kicked us out. Would've been nice if they put it on the jumbotron, but no one asked us to leave. The team did indeed come back out on the ice with the trophy after it was presented.

Do you guys watch the replays the 2nd and 4th goals were deflections. Granted they didn’t look great but watch the replays. He did come up with a few huge saves later in the game namely that huge glove save to keep a one goal game. This was going to be a run and gun game with two offensive minded teams. If they are going to make a run they need to play better in all facets.

they won hockey East with they recipe so it isn’t so bad is it? 5 in pairwise too.

Arena is always half full at 7 on a Friday night. IMO, it was a bad decision to roll back the Friday night start times from 7:30pm. I hope they reverse it next year. It is hard for many people to make it in time for 7.

As stated, STH got an email. No idea how/if they notified others.

The team thought last night’s game started at 7:30. : )

We will certainly find out. More importantly than a sloppy win, however, is that you guys are back in the Manchester picture now. As of now would probably be:

1. Michigan (4)
2. BU (5)
3. Notre Dame (12)
4. Alaska (13)

First, congratulations to the team! Winning the regular season in HE outright is an accomplishment.

Now, the Commesso thing. Very talented goalie. WJC experience, Olympic team experience and wins. High draft choice. However, his record in tournament games (and 1 Red Hot Hockey at MSG) is…..1-7. The win is this year’s first game against Air Force at the Desert Hockey Classic. No Beanpot, HE tournament, or NCAA wins. Some of those games he played well, but still no wins of any consequence. All of the goals his own fault, surely not. Some bad team defense - yes. He will need to steal at least portions of games in the tournaments. All champions have that in common on their runs. Let’s hope this trend reverses starting with a quarterfinal win next weekend.

Can’t think of a game they deserved to win in those. It’s a team sport and don’t forget an Albie coached team.
