Will someone please give a pronunciation guide to the UVM/ESPN announcer? If I have to listen to another four periods of “COMM-uh-so” I’d just as soon hit mute.
Yeah, hopefully someone tells the P by p guy how to pronounce it. He actually pronounced it right the first time he said it in the second period so I thought "oh, someone told him in between periods". But he went right back to it.
A win is a win, and 5 goals is welcomed after the tough streak they were on. But there is clearly still work to do. The PP is terrible, and that should be the one thing you can really coach. Matt Brown has had trouble keeping the puck on his stick for 5 games now. Skoog is trying to do too much. The lack of depth on d has been exposed and is likely the main reason this team won't go far. I hope I am wrong, but I don't see them being able to hang with the top teams out west.
But hey they are back in first place, at least for tonight and control their own destiny again, thanks to UMass beating Northeastern.
Did he play with AJ Greer?
Does anyone else notice how easily this team gets puck taken when on their stick?. The lack of strength and inability to win puck battles baffles me lately. Felt like it was really glaring in the first two periods.
Also can someone explain this powerplay to me. What exactly are they trying to do here? Just hope the guy in the slot/bumper magically gets open?

Not sure how to feel about the weekend. A sweep and back to 1st is great. Still gaping holes on defense and not where we were earlier in the season on the rush - and this is against one of the bottom 10 teams in college hockey. I guess there always a chance we get it going again.
Did anyone notice Alaska (Fairbanks) is in the tournament at this point? That snuck up on me. They are 12 in the PWR - ahead of every other HE team! Wow
So based on Sean's Hockey East by the numbers thread, the worst BU can finish is third in the league, correct? Merrimack only has one game this weekend so that will help. Looks like we're getting snow Friday night/Saturday morning. Plowable. Though, yesterday we were supposed to get plowable snow and hardly anything fell where I live.
I believe that is correct, but the vastly preferred position is #1, as that will assure that we play the weakest remaining seed in the quarter finals, and likewise in the semi-finals. Let Merrimack and NU pound each other in the semi's, assuming we all make it that far. Finishing the regular season second or third is much less attractive. We have the pole position now, and can retain it by playing our best brand of hockey this weekend.
