I don’t even think Levi is a top 2 goalie in Hockey East. I don’t think people give enough credit to Northeastern and the defense in front of him. Commesso went 14-3 in conference vs 14-6 for Levi and more importantly for a team that finished 1st. Commesso stats took a massive hit in one game vs BC when he should have never been playing as he reportedly was in hospital all week. Levi will still win GOY because it’s a lazy take and stats rule those. I think wins are also important. Levi’s stats are great but so does perets at Quinipiac and that has a lot to do with their system as well. I think Matt Brown or Hutson should be above Levi. northeastern under achieved and probably won’t even make tournament. Jeffries from Merrimack deserves a look as well.

I'm thinking Dennehy from Merrimack (the Providence announcers even said it on the broadcast last night), as they have reached their highest point ever since they have been in Hockey East.

If you dive into stat and systems then it’s a lot closer than you think but that takes work. Of course Levi’s stats are better based on the team structure. NU has stay at home defenseman, 87% PK while BU has offensive defenseman and a 77% PK which is worst in hockey east. Check out Grade A scoring data, high percentage shot data…saves above data. Odd man rushes give up data…
 
I'm not even saying Levi is more deserving than Hutson, just that he's the competition. And I think voters will go for the upperclassman. There is no forward that is miles ahead like Levi is in net.

his share of soft goals too…it happens.

Swap team and they have same stats.

Just another baseless take when Commesso can't even get to a .910 in conference play on the best team in the league. No it's not all his fault but it defies logic to argue Commesso against Levi.
 
T.J. Semptimphelter had a 2.05 gaa and a .934 with northeastern last year. He gave up 0,2,4,1, 2,1,4,1…look familiar? He has a 2.84 and a .913 this season at arizona state. To underestimate the team and system a team plays when it come to goaltending is asinine and just plain lazy.

You are so ignorant sometimes. .910 with that defense and essentially having 4 forwards on the ice at all times. Michigan goalie must suck too…he only has a .907. If you had any knowledge of hockey you would see how Michigan plays and how it isn’t conducive to putting up good goalie stats. Quinnipiac system is very goalie friendly as is Northeasterns. Get it yet?

Commesso has a .913 in conference play and the most wins and best winning percentage in league. So you are wrong. Shocking…they are the best team in league because they score more goals and by being so offensive they therefore give up defensive play. Not sure you have seen BU play but they aren’t really responsible in the dzone and that system results in a lot of quality scoring chances against. It’s not a goalie friendly system. It’s run and gun…
 
Lane Hutson should be POY and it shouldn’t be close. A defenseman leading the league in scoring on the first place team. Should be a no brainer.

There's at least an argument for Hutson over Levi for POTY. There is zero argument for Drew Commesso over Levi...for anything.

Let’s revisit in a few years..commesso is a more talented goalie will have a better pro career. Every single NHL team and their scouting department also backs that up a one went in the 2nd round and one went in the 6th round. But you must know better than hundred of pro scouts…if you are talking about Hockey East’s stats then yes Levi has better stats and there are reason for that as I stated. Tough for you to grasp I know. Some systems are conducive for be goalies stats and some aren’t. At no point did I say commesso should be POY or GOY.
