BU 2021-22: Albie's Great Adventure

Well it’s obvious that UConn spent a good amount of time dissecting the 8-1 loss as they’re playing exactly like Maine did. Sigh.

Atrocious start. The 8-1 losing team to Maine showed up. Pathetic. Outworked. On pace to give up 60 shots. Season over it looks like.

I had said last week's game against Maine was the worst game I have even seen a BU team play in 50 years. I was wrong... Did they bring their double-runners? They look as though they're in slow motion.

Yes, I am eating my words right now about feeling good. I’m quite shocked at this start. I thought this would be a good tournament team based on the Beanpot efforts. They are fortunate it is only 1-0. Commesso has kept them in the game. I can’t explain what went on there. It was like we went to a 4th period after the Maine game. No energy, the decisions were bad and we lost every 50-50 battle. Just ugly again. They better find some game, or no one is seeing the ice again until October.

Face off violation. BU is doing everything in their power to lose this game. It’s not close. UConn is manhandling them.

Yes, I think you're correct. The announcers said "roughing" but I'm pretty sure that's wrong...they showed the guy in the crowd with the UConn sweater signaling roughing (even though he was giving the football signal but the point was well taken).

Team has quit.
Yes its not a switch you can just turn on. We saw the character of this team last Saturday. Basically have not shown much urgency or effort since the BC win very spotty since including a very lackadaisical win vs Maine where Commesso came up big

Albie's last game?

As I have stated in the past, I don't know the man. And I know there are differing coaching styles. It also "seems" as though Albie is somewhat soft-spoken. But at some point, you have to know when to light a fire under a team, and apparently he just doesn't seem to be able to do that. "Even tempered" is fine, but sometimes you have to come out of character to motivate people. But don't you almost feel as though if it ISN'T his last game, this loss is wasted? Sounds like strange wording I know, but at least it would demonstrate that there are consequences. As and far as the "Coach of the Year" talk...idiotic.

I would expect this to be Albie’s last game. Team has no consistency at all. Tons of talent but zero coaching.
