My apologies to Krys...he has been the best D on the team the last 5 games. The M brothers have taken the crown...shame we don't have any rested defenseman in the stands to play. We clearly can't win with Diffley and Switzer in the line up..oops I mean we can't win against anyone but top 10 nationally ranked teams with them in the line up.

Forgot to mention the genius decision to decline the penalty shot...it all makes sense to me now..just wondering if he had to call the NHL before making that decision.
As I've brought up in my Keller comments, the past 4 penalty shots / shootout attempts between BU and the WJCs, he has come up short. One might have been an all out breakaway, not sure.
A related interesting thought - for some reason my selective memory is recalling Jack Parker doing this once in a road game against UNO, back in the days when Quinn was with that program. Student learning from the teacher? And they did kill off the major, correct?

Jeez Shane, just transfer already...
Yes, they were in the middle of killing Charlie's 5 minute major and ended up killing the whole thing. Goals two and three came on MacLeod's penalties, I'd expect to see him sit Friday. About 0:30-0:45 had expired from that already, so it'd leave a bit over 2:30 remaining once the MC penalty ended. There was one previous 4 on 4 situation in the first period and BU thoroughly controlled the puck for the majority of that time, thus Quinn declining the shot and taking the 2:00 off the 5:00 makes sense. From a game flow perspective, if Clayton misses that penalty shot that's a huge shot in the arm for Merrimack and they'd have 4+ minutes of PP time while riding a huge high and that can easily turn into a major momentum change in the game. Of course if he makes it that stymies their success, but as you noted given his shootout record at the WJC, I don't think Quinn was overly confident he'd put that one in. I have no problem with declining the shot and taking the two minutes in that situation.
wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't in the works...
Aren't all prospective BU transfers supposed to take the trolley up to NU?
