Was reading an espn insider thing and the coyotes GM is quoted as saying keller has been put in the discussion for their roster next year. Not that that's a big surprise.
I don't want to get a reputation as having it out for Keller, but his effectiveness in 5 on 5 situations seems greatly reduced to me as of late. I hope it is just a fluke, but he most impresses when he is circling the zone, looking for the right pass. This happens a lot more on the PP than 5 on 5. Maybe Eichel just set the bar too high in my head, but one-on-one, Keller hasn't shown me as much as I expected, based on the first few games of the year. He will still get points and make nice passes and will probably end up as the leading scorer on the team.
I guess my real point is that I don't think he is ready for the NHL yet. But I am probably wrong.

When you look at guys like Keller and White (BC), they lit it up playing together at WJC because they both play at the same skill level and high speed. Not so much on their college lines. I know the guys on White's line are a step or two behind when he turns on the jets. Kreider had this problem as well... no one on his team had near his speed and it showed when he crossed into the offensive zone and he'd be below the dots while his trailers were just crossing the blue line. The NHL was where he belonged.
What I'm saying is... these guys are probably ready and should probably take the next step. They would be better off playing with guys at their own skill level rather than playing another year of NCAA. Hate to say it, but just my observation.
Especially in Keller's case.![]()

Anyone know the travel schedules this weekend for both teams. Certainly a tough commute. Was last year the first time they did back to back nights in Boston and Orono?
BU apparently will bus up to Portland on Friday after the game, stay overnight, and continue to Orono on Saturday. I imagine Maine will make the full trip to Orono Friday night.
And you are surprised why? As I mentioned somewhere else (maybe in the UNH thread), they are "established" now. They don't care about the fans anymore. They don't even NEED us anymore. Who cares what the "experience" is like for us? They've sold the advertising. Did you see the boards, the wall, the ice and the field plastered with ads? All the TV spots were sold. They have turned this into a carnival with all sorts of peripheral events, no doubt that are sponsored as well. To "everyone" else besides those of us for whom the novelty wore off (in my case, after the first one), it's a fantastic thing. It's not going away. Period.
Unless you are on the pavillion level, or in the grandstand behind the nets, you can't see.
Need clear boards, which would help, but as you said, they've sold the advertising, which includes the advertising on the boards.
Sadly, it's just not gonna happen . . .
If everyone stopped going, they would not happen anymore... there will always be a new crop of fans who want to check out the outdoor game thing though, so it may last for a while.
I have been EXTREMELY happy with the free feed and the pairing with Bernie's announcing is, in my opinion, the best of both worlds.
Stream it to my 60 inch Vizio and I am as happy as a clam to stay home on game night.
Is Maine's video feed a pay site?
