BU 2015 Offseason Thread-To quote The Clash - Should he stay or should he go?

Re: BU 2015 Offseason Thread-To quote The Clash - Should he stay or should he go?

Makes BU much weaker at top but BU should have great depth this year. Looking forward to see what some of these guys can do with more playing time.

Next year's BU team should still be good offensively, with more balance and even more depth. I think Greer has the most potential to take a major leap with his production, especially if he consistently plays well in a top-6 role. Think JFK, Greenway, Letunov and Carpenter can all contribute right away, but the team doesn't have to lean on them to carry them up front.

Excited to see the rising Sophomore D-corps also take major leaps in their games. One of them may not play regularly w/ Grzelcyk's return plus the addition of McAvoy.

I think BU will still be one of the top teams nationally with a legit chance to make it to Tampa.

David Warsofsky was signed by the Pens today, Mookie. Will he have a shot at the Top 6?

Tyler shared that earlier with Mookie

Pens need a lot of help. Many holes though they didn't have to trade matta not pouliot to get kessel today

What is the latest status of Juniors Danny O'Regan (SJ) and Ahti Oksanen (FA) to return some level of offense next season?

Re: BU 2015 Offseason Thread-To quote The Clash - Should he stay or should he go?

Congrats to him and I look forward to watching him play. Now that there's a dumpster fire of a pro hockey team in Boston, it may mean needing a new NHL team to root for. Why not them? :) While everyone knew he was gone after this season, it did become apparent mid way through that the chance of him staying for a second season went from "Ha ha, sure, are you kidding me? Of COURSE he's only there for one year!" to "Maaaaaaaybe he stays. He really loves it at BU." At the hockey banquet, he was overcome with emotion. After seeing interview after interview with him and the poise he showed throughout all of it, the fact that he was so overcome really was something. It showed me how special and meaningful this season was to him, how much he enjoyed it and how much he loved his teammates and the coaching staff and that yeah, I think the decision really weighed on his mind. And then he had an amazing Worlds and it was like, yeah...he's ready to go. So very happy for him and his future and can't wait to see what he does. It was such a treat to watch him this past season.

I'm anxious for the season to start!!!! Especially now that the schedule is out.

An Adams Division rival? Surely you jest! He is now the enemy! May Adam McQuaid knock him into tomorrow sometime this winter! :D

Don't know on either, Ahti's at the NYR camp this week along with LaCouvee. SJ is such a dumpster fire of an organization right now, it might behoove Danny to hold out and become a free agent. Then again, there's the prospect that his stock may not be higher than it is now. Who knows.

Re: BU 2015 Offseason Thread-To quote The Clash - Should he stay or should he go?

Jack is certainly on a very short list of the top Terrier players in their storied history. In my time (1987 forward), the only two guys I put close to him are Tony Amonte and Chris Drury. And really, Jack is at another level than those two guys. Tony, while nearly as exciting in terms of overall skill level, was an older freshman, and Chris, despite his storied career, was certainly not a dominant freshman. It seems to me the only two other guys in Terrier history that could be in the same conversation as him are Rick Meagher and Jack Garrity, but I'll have to let others weigh in there.

Jack came in with the highest of expectations, and from the moment Bomber and I saw him toying with those poor St. John Johnnies in the exhibition game, it was clear he was going to be a real difference maker. He helped propel a team that struggled to one that was one period away from the perfect dream season. What a treat it was to have him in the program, even if for just one year. He, along with the coaching staff who deserve credit for how they managed him, have put the program back on the map and the future looks incredibly bright. I can't wait to watch him at the next level.

BU Hockey: We had the Jack.

we even loved watching him, if you love hockey how could you not? The first time i saw him it took about 30 seconds for me to realize how great he is. A generational talent. Best of luck to him but he won't need any

Quick Q for the terrier nation. My gf and I are thinking of going to the comm ave alumni challenge thing at the Walter Brown. Do they serve alcohol there?

Re: BU 2015 Offseason Thread-To quote The Clash - Should he stay or should he go?

Like who ?

Well, I, for one was holding out a sliver of hope. I just felt that the combination of 1) he really seemed to love it at BU 2) he kept his commitment to come to BU through a coaching change and intense pressure from the Q and 3) his family seemed very focused on the importance of working towards a degree - was enough to keep it as a possibility. It sounds like his play at the World Championships really helped him decide. I have to think that if he ended up getting drafted by Arizona, and either didn't play a the Worlds, or didn't play as well, there would be at least a 25% chance that he would be returning.

It's been great to see how the Buffalo fans have embraced him, once getting over the initial sting of not getting McDavid.

Not eligible to return
Suites at Stanley Cup, flying all over the place, hotel suites, jerseys, signing cards for fee on and on and on
CM can do all that, JE can't
Knew he wasn't coming back long ago
Telling when they only had top 4 cards signed
NH coming back, JE never was

You're aware NH flew all over and got a suite at the Stanley Cup too, right?

They served Alcohol at the Juniors Exhibition game but I don't believe they served it at the Women's game I attended a few years ago.

not 1/10th as much and made sure to pay for all. didn't stay at the W which is $3500 a night during Stanley Cup, didn't get free suite tickets , didn't sign demo cards, going to games, free jerseys on and on. Didn't see him at the MLB games with free stuff
one eligible, one not. moot now but would have been interesting
