BU 2015 Offseason Thread-To quote The Clash - Should he stay or should he go?

Re: BU 2015 Offseason Thread-To quote The Clash - Should he stay or should he go?

According to John Buccigross, Quinn had three years left on the old contract. They ripped that one up and agreed on a new 5 year contract.

How much of a cut does Jack Eichel get from this deal? ;)

Re: BU 2015 Offseason Thread-To quote The Clash - Should he stay or should he go?

Thoughts from the draft:

- Not a single video of Eichel shown just before or after he was selected (granted, there are plenty of places to find some). We got to see plenty of the Erie Otter teammates though.
- Was Tim Murray nervous? Geez, no thanks to the city, the Panther, not even a "with the second pick in the 2015 draft", heck not even a "proud". Just "Buffalo selects Jack Eichel".

Getting ready to go read the Boston media, but the NBC Sports group was slamming the Bruins for the third pick (rated in the mid-40s) and their overall approach to the draft.

Greer is the first Terriers to be selected on day 2, 39th pick to Colorado. He was ranked #69 among N.Americans, so this is a nice jump.

There were millions of clips of Eichel before the top two were selected both in the pre show and after the actual broadcast started. The entire show revolved around them. In fact, it was downright embarrassing that they showed clips of Eichel after Ottawa selected White a few hours later. It didn't bother me from a BC perspective but more in general it was just something ridiculous I happened to notice because White just got picked. I got the sense Pierre was like what the f are we doing still talking about Eichel but had to participate.

Not sure what the Bruins were doing but it goes down as one of the worst draft days in the history of major sports (and I don't mind that they got rid of Lucic and Hamilton). Warsofsky and Grizz have a solid chance at playing in the NHL now.

Could certainly be proven wrong on greer but taking him that high after a 7 point freshman season, seems like a gamble to me.

He showed improvement as the year went on and really started to turn in up near the end of the season. He came in as a 17 year old out of the prep ranks. A year of seasoning in the USHL probably would have done him some good and arriving to BU as an 18 year old. Guys with that size sometimes takes a bit more time to develop and I expect a lot more out of him this season.

Reminds me of another Greer. #GiantLeap2ndYear

Nice 2nd day for the Terriers. I only caught the tail end, but Quinn and York were interviewed during the broadcast today.

Great draft for MA kids as well.

Reminded lots of people -- 7 points when he should have been a senior at Kimball Union. Eichel and Hanifin are the exceptions. Most 17/just turned 18 year olds can't produce at ncaa level.

He only gets a cut if he comes back for his sophomore season. :D
FWIW there is a temporary worker in our office who is a rising sophomore at BU, lived on the same floor as Eichel last year, thinks Jack is returning.

I'd expect Greer will be a top six forward this season, very possibly on the top line:
Greer-Baillargeon-O'Regan
Lane-JFK- Oksanen

Oksanen and Lacouvee will be attending Rangers' development camp.

I like Lane, but we've got problems if he is on the second line.

I said the same thing a year ago. I agree. While perhaps it may start that way, I"m hopeful that Letunov will be on the top two lines by mid-season.
