So you're saying he doesn't have a snake in his pants? That might actually explain things...

If that Gryba hit had happened in a college game (I realize less likely to have blood with the full shield, but stay with me here.) it would have blown up this site. It wasn't even a penalty and he gets a 5 minute major and the gate, plus 2 games. Calls should not be result based.

Re: BU 2013 Offseason Thread - Bring on the Mighty Quinn

Good post here. The NFL evidently has a rule against hitting a defenseless receiver in the air. Designed to eliminate all the crazy missile like hits by guys like Doug Plank. Most of the commentary I heard on NHL Radio was that this was a "good hockey play" with a bad result. My guess is that the NHL will take a long look at these type of hits. Matt Barnaby cautioned that the league not rush into this one as it will change in his opinion, the entire game.

In terms of the suspension, it looks like someone remembered the Rocket Richard-Hal Laycoe incident which precipitated a riot in Montreal and did not want a repeat performance.

Some great hockey in the early rounds already including the 1-0 OT win for the Caps today.

If they want to start penalizing the close to illegal hits with suspensions, starting in the playoffs is a bad idea. Shanahan is saying he didn't do enough to prevent an illegal hit, that type of grey area interpretation is poorly timed.

Shanny heard you! Everything that happened last night gets a green light

I'm told that planning is in very preliminary stages for holiday tournament at the Dunk in a couple of years.
The goal in the first year is to have a field of Brown, PC, BC, BU. Bernie Corbett is doing a lot of the ground work on this

Sounds interesting. Could replace one of the BC games we are losing with the new conference schedule.

where are you seeing that? i'd be pretty surprised if bourque isn't suspended for his elbow on conacher...

More of this, less outdoor crap.

Fed league tweeted earlier that there would be no hearings or anything handed down following last nights game.

Maybe its just that Harvard kind of feels a lot like Brown to me... so really its just Providence instead of Northeastern!

IF BU and BC met in the 3rd place game of this one.... would it still be a big game? :D
