Considering the kid's antics on the ice, maybe it was best he move on. I know he had some skill, but could be addition by subtraction.

Mike McMahon now reporting he's heard from sources that Mike Grier is a top candidate for the open assistant's job at BU, the position Greeley is rumored to be in the running for as well.

I don't see where the Freep (or anyone else) reported they're staying. In fact, the Freep has a bunch of tweets and an article confirming the reports that they're gone.

Its taking as long/longer to fill the assistant position as it did to fill the head coaching position.
Anyone know anything?

Guessing it's just finalizing paperwork/waiting for some other things to wrap up. Sounds like they have their guy in Steve Greeley. Saw the report about Grier, but I haven't found anyone who's been able to confirm that he's being seriously considered.

Odd situation, Mike's certainly got solid sources of info, so surely he got that tidbit from someone who wouldn't be throwing that kind of thing out when it's baseless. But you're right, I also have not seen anyone else put forth that info. Who knows. My relatively uneducated opinion is I'd rather have Grier, but really, I don't know much about either as a coach.
