BU 2013-2014: Ready to Quinn

Re: BU 2013-2014: Ready to Quinn

3rd, 4th lines and defense will prevent BU from being in the 18 range of Pairwise. Sloppy play with the puck, leaving men uncovered in front of net, etc.

I didn't say it was "too many." What I said was we knew that there wasn't enough of a core fan base to fill the arena and that once we had a couple of "down" seasons it would be half empty. That is NOT the same as saying it is "too many" seat, because I understand that in order to get it built, it had to have viability for OTHER events (concerts, figure skating, etc.). I was simply addressing the comments relating to the "lack of atmosphere" which are inevitable when you have a half-empty arena. You know, EVERY problem doesn't have a perfect solution. Just because I mentioned it doesn't mean I'm "dumb." I repeat, we don't, and never will, live in a perfect world, much to the chagrin of the left-wingers.

Fair enough. I was a student in the 80's (apathy busters!) so I know all about what an awful fan base BU has. Yet, I'm still surprised how quickly they all bailed on this team. (See the North Dakota weekend # 's). And I agree that the high prices are also a factor. When they start winning again it will be interesting to see if winning is worth the high cost. Of course the students don't factor into this equation. They're just ****ty fans.

On Kurker: I guess Quinn has some Bill Belichick in him. Not so much with the transparency.

Instant and immediate success? Really? The team hasn't made the tournament or won a beanpot in half a decade. All the while prices increase. How much should I have to put up with. The team doesn't care or try so neither will I. You can sit there and watch this mess. I have better things to do. Fwiw I haven't missed a home game in 7 years until this season.

Please don't come back when the program returns to the high levels of success that brought about your sense of entitlement. Enjoy the "better" things you have to do. I'm sure they'll make you less bitter than you currently feel and will improve your well-being and quality of life.

Also, if you're gonna abandon following the program, think about changing your username to something like Yasin Cisse.

Very good...maybe I could use any of the following...

Or Charlie Coyle, Sahir Gill, or wesley Myron or...the list goes on and on.

Gotta give whomever it was props for deciding that the friends lounge is now off limits to everyone but players and parents now.
Boys should consider themselves lucky they get to sneak out without being seen with these horrible losses.

Wow. Just wow. I can't believe how a couple losses have turned the fans on one another.

JP made it to 1 FF in his last, what, 16 years? Have we forgotten all those bad losses that JP had? JP had this program in a tough spot, and I for one, think it is ridiculous that fans are jumping ship after one semester. This program has a lot of challenges, but very few are on DQ if you ask me. He didn't recruit these players. He doesn't set HAA prices. He wasn't in charge when the sexual issues took place. He is certainly partially responsible for the results on the ice, but I would argue that he has done a much better job admitting that he is at fault that JP ever did.

In my book, DQ gets two years to turn things around.

On Kurker - he obviously was not ready for D-1 hockey. Perhaps Parker should not have let him talk him into coming without any juniors. I hope he gets his game where it needs to be to be successful. Here is a question - if player and coach (BU) both agree that he needs more seasoning, is there something that stops him from being eligible from coming back to BU?

I'm not upset with DQ...rather the state of the union so to speak. Prices, performance, off ice trouble...it's not in a good place. Hasn't been for awhile.

My understanding is Kurker wanted to play right away and was going to go elsewhere if he didn't get a spot at BU in the fall of 2012.

Re: BU 2013-2014: Ready to Quinn

If Kurker was a freshman, I could see where he may be able to get his "A" game back with a year in the USHL, but he already has a full year of D-1 under his belt and he did nothing as a Sophmore, so I just don't see him ever becoming an impact player at this point.
