Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

In hindsight, there was no need to cancel the game. We got maybe 2.5 inches up here. UNH would have had no issue getting home.

They cancelled because it was the Parker retirement ceremony and they knew no one would bother showing up in the snow for it, so they didn't want to hold the ceremony in front of 2,000 people.

Yes.. I meant the game itself... could have still moved the Parker thing til the NU game.

The storm was not nearly as bad as the forecast (at least where I am north of the city), but of course hindsight is 20/20.

Governor Patrick warned everyone "to stay off of the roads," which basically forced BU's hand to postpone.

Yes I undersdand. I'm just saying that it turned out to be much smaller than forecast. As mentioned hindsight is 20-20.

How's Terrier TV quality? It is part of CBSSports.com as is CatamountV which while free had poor quality for Saturday's BC/UVM game- no replays, one SD camera, could barely see player's numbers. Thanks.

Not bad, it's the feed of what's on the arena jumbotron. Could be better, they don't put up PP time, and the scoreboard that's implanted on there from what I remember leaves a lot to be desired, but it sounds much improved over what you're describing. I'm not positive it's HD, but the quality is serviceable.

Most all HS sports games were played even youth level travel games, Duh..val's judgment is usually ignored in these parts.

A brutal performance by BU tonight. As lopsided a 2 - 1 game as you'll ever see. Can't BU win any of the battles along the boards and behind the nets?

during the pp where uhn scored the shorty i'm sitting there watching that mess trying to figure out if there has ever been a less talented pp line out there, when the pass from the lower right wall straight back to the cross point was made, creating the breakaway and shortie... unreal.

those goalies are getting short-changed. they have both been outstanding this year. at any other level they would be demanding a trade :p

buddy wasn't on the bench. hope he was recruiting some overage 23 yo canadians to play next year.

ugh, yuck.

The guy sitting behind me called the play about 2 - 3 seconds before it happened. Do you think UNH was waiting for it?

Box score has attendance today at 3533. Agganis capacity listed at 6300. There is no way the arena was 50% full this aft. Not even close. As I said, 1/3 max. Jackie was there with a bunch of alum players who probably showed up for the weekend to retire his sweater number. Pity.

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

Well...a lot of us had to work and the team doesn't win so that explains the attendance. Oh, and the tickets, parking, and concession cost too much. Please tell me that Oksanen wasn't responsible for the SHG against. Seriously. Please someone who knows the stats look is up. By my guesstimate BU has allowed 25 short handed goals against. That's gotta be a record.

The honor tonight went to Matt Lane who hit UNH's Matt Willows in full stride with a pass. Willows burst through the pointmen just outside the UNH blueline and beat Maguire glove side.
